anyone using subdomains for micro niche sites? are they results equally good or they need to have normal domain.

i was thinking of using wordpress network to create 5 micro niche sites with 5-10 articles and then keep on adding few every week.

    any suggestion guys.

I've done it as a test... never again. Tough as hell to get ranked.

From what i have tried, subdomains are very difficult to rank, better pick a keyword domain and not .info, pick .com or .org or .net, these are easier to rank

    use .com.
Dont use subs...use root domains extensions/folder names..google "sees" subs as separate domains..have the folders name built around your long tail keywords and make sure your root domain point to the folder pages..and then promote both..this way..your site itself is seen to be growing and larger..subs are shite..
