    so here's the question,

im going to attempt my first autoblog, i am coming in aith a goal of eventually making $100/day with adsense, but since its my first ill be more than happy with anywhere over 30.

now the question is, the general tactic seems to be buy 50 domains, put a wordpress on each one, find your content, and get the autoblog running, promote your websites, and let the horses run.

i know that has been proven to work, now, would a good old supersite work?
my that i mean one wordpress, but with pages and links within the pages to create categories and sub categories and super pimped out to basically look like reuters or like the wall street journal or something like that. news, entertainment, celebrities, economy, etc etc on the same wordpress.

what are your views and arguments for or against either one?

    thanks

I ran into the same dilemma, but mainly due to keeping costs down.

The question I had to answer was, am I going to be driving traffic to my autoblogs by twitter/something like twitter or actually trying to rank for good keywords to bring SE traffic?

Twitter was the simple, no real work involved option. So I have a couple autoblogs running under a general umbrella term. (example: bordercollies.typesofdogs.com)

I'd try to keep the umbrella term as close to your micro niche(s) as you can IF you do decide to go that route.

In the end, I like to do a little more leg-work upfront and get a keyword thats just easy to rank for and build a micro niche site, with an EMD, of course.

i definitely do want to rank, thats my main objective.
however i was thinking that maybe, just maybe a large site with subfolders would get me some SE traffic.
    or maybe sub domains?
my main theory is that if i promote links to subfolders within the site
then those sections would get a few pages ranked in google somewhere and all the linkjuice would be pointing to my own domain. instead of having 50.

well thats the theory, im also not interested at all in buying, seo'ing, and promoting 50 different domains

but yea anyone with advice out there?

    sidenote, wordpress or joomla?

The way I look at it, you're going to run out of content to autoblog if you go micro niche (obviously a smaller niche=less information). It's almost dead-end if you go a micro niche AUTO-blog. They need unique content to stay in rankings.

It sounds like you're better off going into a medium competition keyword and then have all your long-tail keywords on your sub-pages.

I would most definitely stick with WP considering the multiple choices of autoblog platforms available.

    @nabyar,

How much time do you reckon it will take from start till monetizing? Say if I start now on a micro niche.

Depends on the keywords and niche you are targeting. If you are trying for a large number of low volume keywords a mega site would probably be more efficient.

Depends on how fast you rank well. Page 1 is your goal and it shouldn't take much to hit if you do your keyword research right.

Get your links from related and authentic sites. Keep the content original fresh and unique. Start up social media and hopefully that will show results.
