Ok, so many people liked this post judging by the number of PM's I received:

    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...aziest-funniest-method-im-still-laughing.html

Well, guess who I was with last night? Yup...same friend that shared this with me. Anyway we grabbed a few beers and watched Game #1 of the World Series and were just talking about what is working, etc. He does full time IM...I have traditional businesses but I love to pick his brain and I get a lot of good ideas form him.

I wanted to share with you guys something that he is doing that is SO SIMPLE...but so effective!

This method: Shopping Mall Food Court Marketing.

He places table tri-folds on the food court tables like this one:

    table-trifold.jpg

He of course first talks to the mall leasing office. Do not just put them out - they will quickly remove them. He said that some malls are DIRT CHEAP - like $30 per week to place them on all the food court tables. Some are as high as $100 weekly.

He then places 1 offer on each side - he designs them and just brings them to FedEx Kinkos and they make them for him. They are laminated to withstand crap being spilled and greasy fingers touching them.

He places the following 3 offers:

    1. Weight Loss CPS (think low cost trial or free sample with re-bill)
    2. Email Submit (think Free iPad)
    3. Dating (think free trial)

    Notes:

Weight Loss - food courts in malls are 99% bad fast food. So, huge market for people that need weight loss help
Email Submit - they are in the mall, shopping. Chances are they passed the apple store and iPads, iPhones are on their mind - seeing a free offer may quickly trigger a submit right there
    Dating - universal...good 3rd option

Now each "ad" he makes VERY simple...bright catch headline...image...QR Code...and easy to remember domain.

    Notes:

The QR Code - so many people have smart phones...and look at a food court in the mall...everyone is eating while playing with their phones. Makes sense. Easily scan and go to the offer.

Domains - it is important to use something that is easy to remember. Set one up and have it forward to the affiliate link. Examples: meltfat100, freeiphone555, datenow800, etc etc

Next time you are at the mall walk past the food court and just observe. All day long people come and go.

Very low cost marketing method to drive traffic and sales.

He does this in several malls local to us and makes thousands a week in profit.

Hope this stimulates your brain and gives you some ideas!! :D

    $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yup, heck you could have someone just call malls all over...work out deals and fedex them the tri-folds...don't even have to be in the same area...

ENDLESS possibility! I just get so flustered when I see posts..."how do I make $1 per day"...just think...use the mind...

People need to stop worrying about how to find shortcuts...brainstorm, vision and make it happen.

This is a FANTASTIC idea! My problem is, the shopping centre near me gets about 50 people in there each and they are notorious for charging huge fees for nothing. The other shopping centre is about 45 mins away but next time I am there I may ask centre management how much they would charge for this. Do you put the offer on the card? Those ones just say 'ask us anything' that means nothing...

Obviously he wouldn't show an image with the actual offers on it.

And who says it has to be shopping centers? You may not be in a very populated area, but there must be places people gather? Think a bit. :)

Yeah lol...that is just a generic image of a tri-fold...to show people what they look like.

Seriously, people need to think...nothing is just 100% spoon fed....it takes some additional work and thought...

    Awesome post man thanks!
I had read something like this a year or so back, and completely forgot about it.
I'm going to be trying this out, here in a week or so it should all be set up.
I have a recently unemployed friend, that is going to be doing all the footwork, and he is great with talking to people hes a Chaplin, and has great social skills.
He is also willing to put in 6-8 hours a day, talking to people, handing out flyers, and pretty much just putting them all over the place.
I'm of course going to be giving him a cut, but its all good.
Because I really don't have time to do all that, while I'm doing my internet marketing.
And I will be able to help out a unemployed friend make some money.
Thanks for this post man, I totally forgot about this method of offline advertising before reading this.
I will update this thread with my progress after, I get everything running and after my friend has been advertising for a week or so.

Yea bro, how crazy is that price!!!! $2500/month this is for several GGP malls in Maryland. Meaning GGP owns several malls in Maryland and this is the cost for one mall. What areas have cheaper rates????

Sure that was for tri-fold cardboard displays on food court tables? I just personally did this in a medium sized market for $60/week (they only offered weekly - no monthly discounts) - still that is just $240 a month.

$2,500 a month is INSANE for that - because they are not secured - any jackass at the table can damage them, and some even put them on the trays not even knowing it....they clean the table and toss in on the tray before it goes in the trash. They are out of their mind! I even suggested this idea to a friend who has a real estate company in another state and he found several malls that were pretty cheap. Heck, for $2,500 a month you can get a storefront outside the mall in some areas

Yea I was shocked....actually I wasnt. I had dealt with this mall before, looking into a kiosk for the company I work for and had the same results. Outrageous prices. Need to look into a neighboring state I guess

Nice to see he found one of the cheaper advertising spots that are around. The good news: there are a loooooooooot more. Many businesses will allow you to place stuff like this around for a very small fee, like $25 a month.

Anywhere that people are stopping / sitting for a while works perfectly. Think coffee shops, etc.

Exactly! It is all about thinking outside the box - there are endless opportunities to get in front of people
