It's a total white hat method. I've got like 15 minutes to write this up. So there will be no spoon feeding. Also the method is very simple.
One of the major problem to start as a creative designer is developing a good portfolio. I've seen many people to work for free for months just to make his/her portfolio. In this post I will show you a method, which will help you to make a super portfolio in less than 30 days and you will get paid a handsome 4-5 figures. So if you are an established graphic artists or a beginner or planning to start a career as a designer, it will work for you.
    Things You Will Need:
    1. Medium level graphic skill like logo designing, Biz Card designing, flyer designing etc.
    2. Time and labor
    No Initial Investment Required :)

    Method:

The method is very simple. We will use crowd funding platforms to presale our skills. The recommended site is as following:
    Code:
    http://www.kickstarter.com/
Some other popular crowd funding sites are:
    Code:
    http://www.indiegogo.com/
    http://www.quirky.com/
    http://www.microventures.com/
    http://rockethub.com/
    http://cofundos.com/
Step-1: Build your basic portfolio with a few design work. If you already have a domain then use that if you don't have any then use any free services like Wix, Webs.com etc.
Step:-2: Read and detail idea about the funding platform you are going to use. It's very important.
Step-3: Start a funding campaign. Be very clear and honest to the funders. Write in detail that, you are a new designer or you have completed your design course recently and want to start career. So to develop portfolio you will provide them service at 50% less. Provide logo design, poster design, biz card design etc service as perks to the funders. Instead of pushing sales copy, present yourself as a inspired and motivated person. Add a video and enough photos.
Step-4: Do some social media marketing and if possible blast press release. Medium scale marketing is enough.
Step-5: Provide your funders with their perks and enjoy the money :)
Step-6: At free time return to BHW and build us some free graphics :p

Here are some similar funding campaigns:
    Code:

    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2009525288/the-logo-portfolio-go-design

    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1176805404/the-lets-make-a-bunch-of-company-product-logos-pro/
Study these successful campaigns and you will find many small tweaks. Another thing, funding takes time, so don't come back in 6 hours and report it doesn't work.
Some other niches/services you can sell:
    • Web design
    • Voice over
    • Video editing
    • Portfolio/CV making
    • Virtual Assistance
    • Many many more....
Do not oversaturate the method. Do not send irrelevant PM. Do your due diligence and I can guarantee you will money :)
    Good Luck & Enjoy!

    • Thanks Thanks x 15

I've been seeing this kickstarter like type of websites and i didn't thinked about this. I was like... oh i wish i had some great skills like (video, music, game, etc creating/design) but i didn't knew it could be done with simple stuff like graphic designs. It's a great idea, thanks for sharing...

You are welcome. If you spend some time studying funder's psychology and funding nature, I'm sure you will stumble upon more simpler niches :)

I'm like Xictus, I never thought of me being able to "sell" my skills on Kickstarter. I've always liked browsing the campaigns and thought that I would love to be able to do one at some point... now I guess I have to start thinking more seriously about it.

    I highly suggest you use

    http://www.indiegogo.com/

because you get money even if you dont meet your goal. Kickstarter does not give you the money if you dont meet your goal. Everyone gets refunded.
