I know most people here don't like cold calling or going into businesses to sell. If you're not doing that, you're losing on a lot of money.

Emailing businesses doesn't necessarily work, however, since businesses get tons of emails every day about the same shit that you're offering. I even own an SEO service website and I get spammed with emails about "seo", "social signals", "get search engine results now", and you name it. These assholes don't care who they're targeting, they're just scraping targets and blasting emails so what is going to make you stand out?

Better yet, what makes you think you won't end up in the junk mail inbox, ready to be flushed away in 5 days after being unread? You think that hotmail, gmail, or yahoo email makes you look professional and make people comfortable with you?

    This got me to thinking...

A guaranteed way to get into someone's inbox, and to get them to read it is through classified websites.

Step 1: Find a theme with demo content

Example: I found a dental website with demo content

Step 2: Make a subdomain on your web design or SEO company that relates to the niche

    Example: dentistry.[myseowebsite].com

Step 3: Install WordPress, install the theme and upload the demo content.

After that make some obvious changes to the location information. You don't want to have a theme showing location as being Switzerland when you're selling to a Swedish company.

Step 4: Find the most popular classified websites in your area (i.e. Craigslist, Kijiji, GumTree, etc.)

Step 5: Go under services and find the niche that you want to sell a website to

Step 6: Go through every ad and find the ones without a website. This is your audience:

Step 7: Write your proposition. Make it personable, don't sound like a salesperson or a dumb robot.

Example: "I recently made two designs for a dental company and they went with the other design so I'm selling this one at a discount." Something along those lines, don't just copy that and don't only write that. Remember: DON'T SOUND LIKE A SALESPERSON!

Step 8: Copy and paste what you wrote and post on similar ads

If the person writes their name on the add, though, make sure to add it in the email.

    Example: Hello Georgina, [paste text]

Step 9: Wait for an email

You're not going to get a lot of responses, so you'll have to post to as many ads as possible. Don't use bots because you ruin your chances of not sounding like a robot. You want to be offering them a generous offer.

Even though you say "don't bot this".

My mind has already come up with a few ways to automate it. I just can't be helped

    Nice share!

Really think it'll hurt your conversion rate but I can't stop you.

There's always a trade off though.

Having it run in the background hands off is more appealing to me than manual labour.

I believe Kijiji and other classified sites monitor how many replies you are making an hour, and implement an auto ban on your replying (you are not informed about this ban, and you won't even know after that if people are getting your messages or not).

Can you be more specific as to how you find themes with demo content of specific niches? All of the ones I found are rather general in topic.

So you're selling demo content? Doesn't seem like you're creating any new content to sell

nice way to approach to new clients. Even if it is quite "cold", is possible to get some clients.

That's why you're not sending a lot of messages in an hour because you're not using a bot. I do 30 messages and it's fine. Adding their name after "hello" and unique content also helps.

Demo is meant to show them what the site will look like. After they sign up for your web design you have to make the website. Charge what you feel is appropriate for the niche, time it will take you and how much you want to make per hour, etc. They buy their domain through Namecheap since I don't want to deal with that and I sell them on my local reseller host.

Top selling themes on Themeforest have it in their description.
