After writing the article [METHOD] How to Create a US TikTok Account for Non-US Users in 2024, I received a lot of interest from BHW members about how to build a channel.
If you are new to TikTok or struggling to grow your channel, this content is for you. I don't dare to call myself a "real-creator" because I don't actually create content. Well, I repurpose it.
This is the method that helped me grow this TikTok channel from 0 to nearly 100k in 3-4 months. I don't remember the exact time because I haven't posted content on this channel for a long time and didn't capture it from the start. But I remember this channel was created in November 2023 and I stopped posting on March 12th.

1. Source:
This is the most important factor for whether your channel can grow or not. For real creators, they have a content creation formula, and for repurposers, we also have our own formula. Here are my selection criteria.
Channels with a high number of followers, active fans, and a good follow conversion rate. You can choose video sources from YouTube, TikTok, IG, or X. I choose TikTok because it's easy and I'm building a TikTok channel. And yes, I repurpose directly from TikTok.
So, how do we know which channels have a good follower conversion rate and which do not? The secret lies in the Follower/Like ratio.
1.1. Follower/Like ratio.
The higher this ratio, the better the conversion. I choose channels with a ratio of 10% - 20%.
Congratulations, you're halfway through finding the source. The next step is competitor research.
1.2. Competitor Research:
Just picking a channel with a good conversion rate doesn't guarantee success; you need to know who your competitors are and how many there are.
Search for that channel's keywords on TikTok. If many people have already made content on it, and their channels range from 100k - 1M, you should choose another source. I choose sources with fewer than 10 competitors.
This is extremely important because even if you repurpose well and TikTok doesn't detect that you copied content, the content will have already been widely distributed to users, and your video won't have a chance to go viral.
2. Download video without watermark.
There are many websites to download TikTok videos without watermarks; you can easily find them on Google, so I won't detail this here. Please search on Google for it.
3. Repurposing video.
If the source is the most important factor for a good conversion rate, repurposing helps your video have the potential to go viral.
As you know, TikTok can detect copied videos by splitting your video into many different images and comparing them. Additionally, TikTok will compare the sound/script of your video with other videos. The trick here is not to let TikTok detect it.
Here’s how I do it.
3.1. For videos
change parameters such as brightness, contrast, color, and add text.
For a more advanced approach, find some video layers like clouds, sky, or sea, then overlay them and set the opacity to 0.1 - 5% so the video isn’t affected when viewed, but for TikTok’s algorithm, your video is completely different.
3.2. For sound
change parameters like speed and pitch randomly and as irregularly as possible.
For a more advanced approach, add 3-5 white noises like a cafe, water flow, wind... and merge them into the video, setting the volume of these white noises to <5% so they don't affect the quality.
Voila, you have a final repurposed video.
4. Upload video.
Each audience has different viewing times, but don’t upload more than 3 videos a day.
Start with 1 video and gradually increase to 3 videos a day, then monitor your audience’s activity to choose the right time.
