Anyways, going to share another Keyword Research Hack.
THEORY - If we can find a weak website [cosiderably DA less than or equal to 15], we can actually steal most of their traffic. Finding these sites is not an easy task, but it should be your go-to-process for keyword research. Keyword Difficulty is mostly flawed and different tools take different approaches for scoring a keyword & it's difficulty.

But the most important thing is to find a weak website that's actually ranking for a keyword that's low competition.
In the https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/method-using-ahrefs-to-find-weak-competitors-their-keywords.1162572/ thread, we went for "having same terms" keywords. In this guide, however, we will go with "Also rank for" category". You can read about the different https://ahrefs.com/keywords-explorer.
So why go with "also rank for" category?
When a particular page is ranking for a keyword with a monthly search volume of 20 or less, it tells that the site ranking actually knows that, the site authority and the keyword search volume is directly proportional.
Strong Site - These pages are ranking for a broad term and that's causing them to rank for other long-tail keywords.
OR, these pages actually want to rank for these keywords - Weak website.
In simple terms - If a site is trying to rank for a keyword having a search volume of 20 or less, then it must be a weak site. If it's a huge site, why it's going to bother about ranking for a measly 20 MSV keyword rather than going for 1,000 monthly search volume (MSV).
Now, on to the method -
Keyword Difficulty = Min - 5
Word Count = 5 - Max
Include = best [2nd most important factor]
I got the following keywords [screenshot below]. Here it's important to understand that, if after applying all these filters you are left with zero keywords or you can't find weak enough sites, you can remove the "Keyword Difficulty' & "Word Count" filters.

- Get your seed keyword [the niche]. We will go with the keyword "drill machine".
- Click on the "Also rank for" tab & you will get a list of all keywords. Keep in mind that, you have to scan a bit more to find a great site. So, have some patience!
- We will be applying the following filters -
Keyword Difficulty = Min - 5
Word Count = 5 - Max
Include = best [2nd most important factor]
I got the following keywords [screenshot below]. Here it's important to understand that, if after applying all these filters you are left with zero keywords or you can't find weak enough sites, you can remove the "Keyword Difficulty' & "Word Count" filters.
- Open the "Batch Analysis" in another tab. We will be doing an overall scan before going for a site, and copying its keywords. The Batch analysis will help you be efficient when mining for sites like these.
- Now, just click on the SERP tab for each keyword & scan for sites with DA equal to or less than 15.
- I only analyzed around 4 sites in the Batch analysis tool. And I found some great sites. Keep in mind to not go for the site that comes first to you.
- Scan sites, analyze their keywords, find their backlinks, all-in-all Understand how did they get there!
