    Hi

I'm looking for a software that can merge two CSV files based on certain primary fields. For example, suppose I have 1 file with the fields email, twitter handle, name and another file with fields email, facebook ID, website. I want to merge the fields that match based on "email" (or another field). In this case, if both files contain the same email we add all other fields (twitter handle, name, facebook ID, website) to new file so all info is contained in a single file.

    Which software can do this?

Not sure but I've been spending the whole day trying to get my Open Office spreadsheet skills up to par. Try Fiverr, there are gigs on there that focus on spreadsheets

If you get the data into an Excel spreadsheet you should be able to do it.

In Excel you can merge two tables based on matching data from 2 columns.

So if in Table 1 you have columns for Age, Sex, Height

And in Table 2 you have columns for Age, Location, Weight

You can merge the Tables and end up with columns for Age, Sex, Height, Location, Weight.

This sounds exactly the same as what you are trying to achieve?

I can't remember exactly how you do it now as I don't use Excel much these days.

    try it with cmd.

remove any table headers in csv file , rename as txt file (might work without changing extension)

move to directory where files located.

type this command -> copy *.txt merged.txt

you can replace .txt with .csv if that works
