So I always make sure my sites are 100% Siloed properly, but I still have this dropdown navigation bar so basically you can go from any page to any other page on the site using it.
I feel like it hurts the Silo or maybe Google understands it's menu and doesn't count it?

    Any ideas :^) ?

On my silo'd sites, my top menu is always a custom menu to my top silo pages.
Then I use a recent posts widget in the sidebar visible on each top silo page. With a related posts plugin at the bottom of the page.
Keeping it easy to get to a post in just a few clicks(3 is my goal)
I find it is easier for people on the site if they are browsing.

Hmm...im in the same boat, however i read drop down menus destroy silo web design architecture (source below). So, instead of having parent page in menu i used categories page but it still doesn't make sense because it comes out as duplicate content.

It is against the idea of the silo structure. The goal is to have as few outbound links as possible from the homepage. It includes internal links. However, as I am facing the issue for a website that has a lot of returning visitors entering the homepage and it would be not user-friendly for them to search the different pages, which are hidden for example on level 3 or 4.

Therefore, I was thinking of a solution to add a faked menu as an image. The image shows the links but it is linked to the silo landing page where the actual link is placed.

For example, if you would have a menu with 20 links and you graphically implement this 20 links into one image link, you save 19 links. For the different silo landing pages you can add one image link to each of them. Saves a lot of link juice that remains on the homepage without decreasing the user-friendly level too much.

    Hope, this helps.

Let me know if you have more questions.

I would rather use pages with parent page instead of posts. Makes it much easier in wordpress

Yes, they are responsive and it's important that they are. Big part of traffic comes from mobile and if your websites are not mobile friendly, it's hard to rank well on mobiles
