Hi guys im new to this forum obv..but i could use your help because i got a meeting with a guy in town who owns couple skating rings and banquet halls. He wants to meet me and see how we can market it better.

Now im not going into this blindly, i know how to SEO, YT for businesses, and even Google Local.. But i just dont know how to "market" skating rings and banquet halls..

I was thinking that i would highly consider for the owner, to use FB ads as a starting point to build each of his businesses fanpages..?

Please let me know what you guys think ....

Skating rinks and banquet halls you need offline marketing, aka banners, flyers, anything local and around the area.

It makes no sense to do seo or any online ads for this job

That is true.. i will suggest those as well. But wouldnt building up a business fanpage with real likes then promoting events/special discounts on that page get mroe customers long term?

Facebook is great for this, especaily if you offering special deals and promotions
    plus SEO
You will be surprised how many people search local with lsi keywords
that never show on googles keyword tool

How did you land this meeting? What value can you bring to the table?

For skating rinks...might want to market to the local schools....do an after school skate session.....discounts, etc. See if the school will allow you to hand out flyers/coupons to the student body in exchange for a donation to their athletic department or some other school organization.

Sounds like you are going in completely blind...can't imagine the business owner will feel too confident if you don't have examples fo what you have done in the past, etc.

PS - referring to it as a "skating ring" to the owner is a sure way to kill the deal...

Hey netmoney1! Man its great to have someone with your veteran stance on this forum reply man! thanks!

That school idea is gold! I like it alot and im sure he will. The reason he approached me was because i am looking for a offline job to fund my online ventures. I told him i would work regular hours at any business or all businesses if needed and ALSO assist him with Marketing and he can choose to pay me more for it if he wants.

I figure thats a good offline job to have. Im not approaching him as a marketer, trying to market him/sell him services. Im approaching him as a employee who has other skills that are useful to him. That is all :)

He himself referred it as "skating ring" when he contacted me but i understand what you mean :)

Thanks for you reply i hope you see my message!

    I LOL'd at this

    Skateboards = Skate Park
    Roller Skates = Roller Rink

Facebook could potentially be great for this. I believe FB allows you to do targeted ads by keyword and location. Get a list of keywords skaters would use in their profiles and market them with special offers on FB.

Banquet halls could be done with straight SEO and PPC.

well some basic online visibility "hubs" can still help (facebook pages, twitter, coupons, maybe even building a following) can go a long way in helping you
