An enterprising scammer by the name of Mwangi Moses Mbure reclaimed a Paxful account after selling it to me. I didn't buy from Mbure directly - Mbure sold the account to a very high profile account seller here, and now I am holding the bag. Be careful purchasing accounts. You can read all about my experience with the dirtbag here, whom I have decided to be so kind as to dedicate a Wordpress blog to:

I am wondering if you have ideas of how to prevent a scam like this in the future. If you are buying an identity verified account, is it reasonable to ask for the identification documents to be provided along with the account?

Your issue is with the high profile seller here.

Did he make good on the purchase?
He says he will refund me the cost for the account itself, but the Bitcoin lost in it is not his problem according to him since I received the account.

Honestly that is the bigger reason I am posting this, to warn others that even when dealing with verified, high profile sellers, stuff can still go sideways...

Also, holy moly BTB, you are wicked fast at replying to new threads :alien:

Dam BTB removes everything extra and bang on the important point. Also isnt this kind of reselling which is not allowed here BTB maybe I’m wrong but looks like it

That sounds fair but you do want to make sure going forward that you are not just buying from a reseller as that is how this one went sideways.

Bummer for your BTC loss though.

Did he tell you he was reselling it?

Probably not, thats how it works. Look at the BSTs here, think all SMMs are not just resellers..

Right. Obviously. But that's my point. If the seller does not disclose that the account is being resold, then they should be liable for the incurred loss by OP.
It's absolutely ridiculous to try to make money off of somebody by selling them an account and then place the blame on an undisclosed source.
If the seller didn't want the liability, he should of disclosed that the account came with risks and/or wasn't even his account.
He didn't do that.
If the seller won't reimburse you, then you should out him to the forum here, because whether he intended to or not, he scammed you.

I will see what others have to say about this before outing the seller. I was suspecting at one point that the account seller himself was working with the alleged scammer... The convo was kind of fishy for awhile..

Damn @Jrim_Software, sorry for your loss man. I hope you did not lose a substantial amount of money. IMO, you should out the seller! he should have told you how he acquired the account. I would never in my life ever buy a BTC/Paypal/VCC or any other account, that can hold money, if I knew the original owner was from Kenya, Pakistan, India, or any other third world country.

I will also say that you did not do your due diligence. You should have asked better questions. Weren't you curious where/how he got this account from?

I say the seller here gives you the money back, which said he would

Pm the mods the sellers name
