TLD doesn't matter (unless it's like .xxx and you're not doing an adult site, MAYBE?), just be aware that with .uk domains you aren't allowed WhoIs privacy... Well you aren't allowed your name to be private anyway, and if you have an Amazon affiliate link or something on the site they will reveal ALL of your WhoIs data and not allow you any privacy.
