Are there any known problems associated with the .me extension on domains? I snagged a couple of really hot niche domains with this extension. But does it matter?

For selling on yes, people prefer .coms unless it is a hack, so if you got og.le then someone could use a subdomain and make go.og.le.

For branding if it works then it shouldn't matter although depending on how technical you users are some may not understand that not all domains are .com/.org etc.. however this is becoming less and less of a problem.

For SEO it shouldn't really affect it as long as using webmaster tools you geotarget it correctly. So they know that you are not targetting what ever the country is for .me

I love .me in some circumstances, think of names like

    fuck.me
    do.me
    shag.me
    buy.me
    post.me

They'd have major marketing potential, possibly even more then the related .com's

I think over all you are better off going with .com/.net/.org just because of it's associated reputability.
But if it comes down to a hot niche or some of the same style domains that crashed listed then .me works just fine.

There is no technically reason why .me is not worth as much as .com.
Remember there are more trust on some top-level domains - .dk is know for not being able to be sandboxed.

I think the .me's were an overhyped marketing ploy for us to go out and buy more domain names. I really don't see any of them ranking well so far. I find it interesting Pleasedress.me and pleasedressme.com is doing well. In this case the .com fowards to the .me

I have a high ranking .me in a very hot niche.

Pick them up and use them. They rank just fine.

I'm sure they rank the same as any other site if you get the right links and do everything right.
That said, i never really see them popping up in searches. Awesomely brandable though
