I have had my RSS link tied to feedburner on my main blog for about 7 months now, and despite my site getting routinely 1k+ UV's a day, I still can't seem to top 40 readers, and it always goes down then back up.

I am wondering if I am using the site properly, if there are settings I'm missing somewhere, or really what I'm doing wrong. I'd think after that many visitors passing through my site, I'd at least see numbers a lot higher than that.

Content plays a part in whether or not people subscribe, and I do provide quality unique stuff, but I just want to make sure I'm properly using feeburner, or promoting my RSS feeds before I start worrying that my content just isn't good enough.

Are there settings somewhere deep in feedburner that are highly recommended to turn in for them to actually burn my feed and not wait for readers to trickle in?

    Thanks!

bumping for tips on this, or really any white hat tips that can take my blog to the 'next level'. Right now I appear to have decent authority with google, I put up an article and within an hour or two it was ranked 8th on that term, but I can't seem to find any consistency with my 'readers' or facebook followers.

I am basically looking for the basics of white hat SEO to make sure I'm doing the 'right' things to promote it, encourage readers, submitting my feed to the right places, and setting the right options for things like feedburner.

If all the right things are in place, and I'm still lacking in readership or followers, I'll know it's my content and will have to adjust there, but right now I post original stuff, get a few comments per article by non spammers who enjoy it, and even get comments by people asking why posts are late. I'd like to think it's not fully the content, but you never know.

Thanks for any help, it's greatly appreciated!
