We should prepare from now the next generation of backlinks
Bring it on...
I'm waiting, Lets Face it =)
What a weak game.
After basically the conversation stops Matt probably gets an idea that this is an opportunity to make just another vague comment. The guy said 'Thanks Matt' and it was no need for another reply, he just realized that the first message with 'no update this week' doesn't panic anyone so he made the 'next few weeks' comment to create some 'chattering'.
what a douche (Matt Cuts).... lets see what you got buddy!
Here is the link to the article.
I'm blackhat to the core but i've been holding off doing any shady link building in anticipation of this update and working more on adding more quality content to my sites while i wait.
I said it before but i don't think it's gonna be anything to do with keyword density like some people seem to believe, but more an attack on the spammy links like the low quality wikis, bookmarks, guestbooks etc that so many use to for their lower tiers.
Google hates spam, i don't know why anyone would think they can't use that big old collection of disavowed link data they've collected over the last year and use it to penalize any page containing x% of its links from these sources.
I know it's not what a lot of you want to hear as you bash your tier 1 and tier 2s out of it with gsa ser, xrumer and the likes, but if you think google isn't capable of doing this.. doesn't want to do this.. and won't do this, then your living in cloud cuckoo land IMO.
They didn't just set up penguin to fight "web spam" so we can carry on as normal and funnel all our crappy links through other links instead. Sooner or later they're gonna start penalizing the pages those links are built to, and maybe even the pages where those pages link to.
Just my opinion anyway, but im sure we'll see what happens in the next few weeks.
Cue the hundreds of threads per day regarding lost rankings due to the new update...
I can't wait for this update.
Most probably this update will hit all sites that are using SAPE & High PR homepage links including private blog networks which links to multiple sites from different niches in a single article/content.
Who cares anyway...I will still rank with my unstoppable servers which are building supreme spam links 24/7. Next generation my ass.
Go back to his tweets and see for yourself what he has been working on. ANYWAY when is the zebra update come out?
I agree. Cutts has been making allusions to "naughty Russian Networks"... plus all the noise over how effective they are coming from this and many other forums. Thing is, all they can really do is devalue and flag pages and or sites that are abusively linking out to non-related sites. So if a site about Gardening has a bunch of links going to car insurance, online poker, web design, and other random sites, they will be flagged and those links devalued and or lead to penalties to both the target and origin. Blog networks even the most private could be in real danger unless all posts are on the same general niche. The SAPE guys will quickly implement niche screening for all their sites, and only apply niche related links. That would just be good link building then... let's see what happens. Should be interesting.
Wanna beat every single update? Keep building authority sites = problem mostly solved
yeah, i don't build links from other sites back to my site anymore...the only thing i do is build more pages on my site and interlink them all (kind of what you see on wikipedia)...
A bird told me Matt is in this thread, wonder which AE is his
