i like your avatar, how much did u get paid for this advert ??

i was 100% in the camp that penguin only targeted off-site seo...

he made a good argument and some of it made some sense, so my conclusion is that penguin most likely targets both on-site seo and off-site...

why can't penguin target both?

interesting thoery but im still seeing a lot of sites ranking that have a lot of links and many of them are what would be classified as spam. If what he says is true all those sites would have dropped too.

I want to believe this but im finding it hard..

This is just regurgitated information that has already been discussed countless times here on this forum.

He also fails to mention how penguin has changed the linkbuilding game concerning anchor text.

If nothing else this video has helped me calm my nerves about penguin, its the first time ive been through a huge update like this and tbh penguin was testing my patience. (i wasnt in the seo game when the let the panda out of its cage for the first time)

Its just made me remember that we WILL find out what penguin is about, if it is or its not what he is talking about - we will beat it either way.

I have a site which has 100% organic site SEO that dropped half a dozen places from pos 1 on penguin 1.0. Basically I stuck up a site with 10 well written posts and lost interest in it straight away (dumped adsense on it and went on to better projects). Initial links were because it was good link bait. Later links were crappy sites linking to the first result in the SERP.

If P is for off-site SEO, then it is for linking I had not control over. I am leaning towards your second conclusion as well.

yeah, i think so much of the conversation has been on-site seo vs off-site being what penguin targets...but why can't it be both?

this is such a logical conclusion...

That's cute! Nothing, I just posted something I felt will be highly debatable.

I'm with you on this. I believe penguin target both on site and off site as well. He made a few valid points which calls for more analysis.
