Hey Guys, been in the business a long time and want to start a thread that could help all of us avoid the VERO trap. Before downloading the list, if you have had a violation from VERO, please help the community and post the brand in this thread. I will Update the list periodically as more companies are added.

I have compiled a list of 160 Companies that have reported against me in the past 5 years either do due MAP, Copyright, Trademark, eBay Banned Items, or Replica Violations (I do not sell replica items but they will report you this way in order to shut down your listing). Replica or Counterfeit is the absolute worst violation to have and eBay will shut you down so fast so keep heed on these companies as they are the MOST important.

All companies below WILL report you to VERO so please be pro-active and remove any of these brands from your listings. Keep in mind some companies and keywords I have shortened in order to better detect listings. Example John Deere & Co. I just listed here as Deere.

I will start it off.... Happy Selling!

Some people are adding their own watermark to an image and removing the brand name. I have heard no data on whether or not this is a viable strategy on ebay though.

If you get them from an authorized wholesale channel, you should be okay. No grey market or anything from aliexpress.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Really just depends on the Manufacturer. Half these brands I buy from an authorized Dist. and the other half from Amazon. It's best just to avoid these brands and focus your energy on brands that don't care. There are plenty out there!

No Firearm is not a branded name, but you cannot sell any firearm's or anything resembling one. You can sell accessories though. I just remove that word from the title, eBay frowns on it.

So Hoover also is a vero brand? I cannot sell a hoover vacuum cleaner? Even if it is 100% authentic, from Amazon?

Is there any way around this ? how do they report it ? is it not legal to sell a product you bought ? what about the first sale doctrine ?

You're perfectly fine to resell whatever you buy, as long as you don't sell it using the trademark or copyright. From example above, you can sell all the hoover vacuums you want, as long as you don't use the word "hoover" anywhere in the listing or have the "hoover" shown anywhere in pics. This also applies if something can be construed as ripping off a trademark, as in if you try to sell "Hooover" vacuum cleaners. So the first sale doctrine doesn't apply on eBay because this is a trademark use issue, not Hoover telling you you can't resell hoover vacuums.

Yes, if you're a copyright or trademark holder, you have pretty much total control of who sells that brand on eBay.

So lets say im selling this vacuum you're talking about,

Im just not allowed to use the name of the brand ?

how would you list an item like that ? that will help me understand the idea...
you would describe all the features just wont use the brand name ? I dont know if itlll sell as well though...ppl might see the picture and think "maybe its a replica or something else otherwise why wouldnt he just write " hoover" ?

just trying to figure it out lol
