Mass Picture Download Utility

    Hey Everyone,

Hardsoft's horny CPA idea got me thinking about mass creating zip submits, and the first place I though I would look was getting pictures. Well, that turned out to be a slow pain in the ass, so I created this little utility that you can use to do it for you.

    You can grab it here:

    hxxp://infoblasters.com/dl/PicBot.exe

    It's a stand-alone EXE, no installer.

Basically, it goes to google images, and parses the code down to get the actual image from each website, then downloads and saves them to:

    mydocuments/picbot/KEYWORD

I can see many uses for this beyond the CPA site, such as a image hosting site and you need some quick pics.

I tested this on a new virtual machine so it should work on most PC's (with the exception of some vista builds of course)

    -- edit

By the way, I should probably do a quick rundown on how to use it.

    1. Append - This appends a keyword to the end of your keyword list
    2. Get this many pics does exactly just that - up to 15
    3. The long textbox is your keyword list, one keyword per line
    4. Get Pics button - gets the pics

I really don't think this needed explanation, but you know.. :)

    Enjoy.

Which AV Scanner you using? Maybe because it isn't packaged in an installer format..

-- just did a scan with AVG and its clean.. I can't see why it would throw an AV off.. it really is quite a simple utility

His application downloads images. If you want to batch process images and "watermarking" you could find something using imagmagick + php. Here's a tutorial
    Code:
    http://www.sitepoint.com/article/watermark-images-php/
. I'm sure you could find some great working examples by digging around with keywords : php watermarking image .. Or even windows watermark images to find a windoze based solution.

Actually thought about more than 15 myself which should be easy to do. It's a vb6 app, and I haven't had much luck with proxy as you need to completely kill the app and restart it to get the webbrowser control to respond to any proxy setting changes. mind you, this doesn't even use webbrowser, it uses urldownloadtofile, and I don't think i've tried any proxy stuff with that api function.

I have many good ideas for this app.

Great software and very useful. I just need something more powerful and more features. I found a great firefox add-on:

    hxxps://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5657

This allows you to download all images (fullsize) on a webpage even if they are in a thumbnail gallery etc. This is very useful for gathering photos from myspace galleries etc for ewhoring and has many other uses.

I believe the best Photoscraping software is PicaLoader from:

    hxxp://www.vowsoft.com/index.htm

You can state which website/webadress/webpage toy wish to download from and it also gives you a thumbnail gallery of the pics to choose from then you choose only the ones you wish to download. It has many other features and also supports proxies.

I have it on free trial just trying to get a free serial number or crack.

Hope this advice is useful to all

Thanks for the share, would be good for alot of stuff, if i was you though:

Package in an installer (get install wiz off tor*rent),
    Make a sales page somewhere
    do a WSO
    sell on clickbank.

Alot of people could use this for alot of simple tasks, think they'd pay £10/$15 to save them sometime.

Easy money in your back pocket even if it isn't too much, tis better than nothing 'eh ;]

Honesty, it took me an hour to build, so i thought id just give it away, plus it's a small piece to a much bigger project. Maybe i'll throw it up on clickbank just for giggles.

release this, get money, get testimonials etc, release new improved version with 2397252+ new features and make even more due to previous repuatation and the ammount of people who loved it =P.

Gotta love VB6 though, everyone disses it, but its the easiest way to get anything done in the shortest space of time. Once i wrote a wireless waiting system for a local pub, i thought it was amazing!

yah.. it's sad to say, but vb6 is my staple :)

But for what I need, it does everything just fine. As for CB'ing this thing.. I'll put some thought into it and more features if I go that route. I added on another form that shows all 15 pics at once so you can accept/delete each pic for a keyword, or completely kill the folder they reside in. Very handy for fast filtering.

-- not available in this download - sorry.. maybe for $15 at CB in the future ;)

    heh ;]

good luck, i know this would do well if you chose to sell it as theres hundreds of uses!

if you need some ideas for features or any help with coding, give me a buzz and i'll do stuff for free (no, won't want to see code, just give me an interface to code =].)

All i'l say is it might be worth adding photobucket, flickr etc capabilities as its just the same as google images so won't be hard to do, but alot of people use it for generic stuff so would probably pay more for it =]

Also might be worth doing format filtering (i.e. only saves JPG or PNG or something), and size filtering (greater than 800x600 or =800x600 or w.e.)

as it means people can use it for more things =]

Hope i gave you a few ideas!

Those are some good ideas.. I will incorporate them .. I just figured out proxy switching on the fly for vb6.. well someone else did, i just copied it :). I am currently building a much different tool but will keep ya posted when this pic utility is ready.
