2017 Updates

We have now updated the marketplace allowing you to manage your thread renewals and see when they are due throughout the year, on a thread by thread basis. Ideal for those that run multiple Marketplace threads. Payments must be managed through the Account Upgrades button - manual payments will be returned and your threads closed.

Other backend minor updates and flow fixes/speed improvements.

How to renew your threads.

Go to your Account Upgrade page and select the thread you want to upgrade under "Available Upgrades"

Click on Pay with Stripe or Pay with PayPal on the specific thread you want to renew. Wait up to 7 days for the payment to process (48 hrs on stripe).

PLEASE NOTE - if you're based in London, UK don't use an Indian postal address and an Australian IP - your payment won't be accepted and your thread won't go live.

17th August Update -

We've come across some issues where threads are not going live for November 3rd 2016 payment dates. If you have this issue please check the thread first and if still closed open a support ticket using support.blackhatworld.com with your payment date, payment reference and link to your closed thread.

2016 updates -

From 1st November 2016 we will be auto-enforcing the requirement to have a Jr. VIP subscription and payment of $30 per year for each thread you wish to keep live in the marketplace. This has been a requirement since the start of the marketplace but never strictly enforced, we are now enforcing to ensure that threads in the markeplace remain serviced and up to date.

Thanks for your understanding.

UPDATE - November 8 2016.
For clarity - where threads are listed in the marketplace that belong to a member that has left the BHW community / isn't able to renew their marketplace thread within the 7 days notice (effectively not managing their service) the thread will be closed permanently and the OP must resubmit their service to have a live thread on the marketplace. This will be extended to 30 days only for the first month at mod's approval.

UPDATE - November 11 2016.

If you have paid for your thread renewal but your thread has not automatically re-opened, please make sure you send a support ticket in using support.blackhatworld.com with the following information.

Forward the Notification PM with the payment link you used to pay for renewal. Reply to the conversation with the paypal transaction ID or the 8 digit Stripe invoice number.
This information will allow us to cross-reference the payment with the marketplace thread and resolve this for you.
We are working through all the outstanding threads at the moment - if you are experiencing issues, please be patient and we will get to everyone in turn. We expect that these issues should be sorted within the next day. If your thread hasn't gone live by the end of day 12th November, please contact us again with the above information.

Good call because I noticed sometimes there are / where marketplace threads that were still live even when the seller didnt have JrVIP any more. good that its auto enforced now.

Can you clarify the cost? This thread states $30/year however https://www.blackhatworld.com/account/upgrades says it's $499/year which is more than a little different.

@mrankin as @eve121 mentions $499 is for those that wish to engage in the marketplace without Jr. VIP status. We charge more as we have to check their service deeper and for longer as they don't have a BHW history.
$30 is the charge for running a thread for a year. A message will be pm'd to you letting you know you have 7 days to pay. You should only pay via this link - any other attempts to pay may not renew your service.

This is the first step in the development of the new marketplace ensuring the seller is
1. An engaged BHW member.
2. Still wants to run the serivce.

Note after the 7 days the service will need to be re-reviewed. If the fee isn't paid we will assume you're not active / monitoring your email and therefore your serivce. We recommend all sellers whitlelist emails from BHW.

We are holding meetings at UnGagged Las Vegas 2016 with stakeholders in the markeplace if you'd like to be added to this list please pm me with your ticket number and I'll send you the availability schedule.

Thanks for the clarification DD. Not attending UnGagged, too far from here in Oz.

Thanks for the information, but are you not concerned with the barrier to entry this places on new sellers? It seems to me there might be quite a few people offering sporadic services and goods that do not warrant the investment a marketplace thread represents, and do not require the legitimacy it brings.

Could you tell me your considerations in regards to an unlicensed marketplace? A 'not endorsed by BHW, use at your own risk' type deal?
It could still potentially bring some value without the need for moderation, and could serve as a stepping stone for people building smaller services.

The total cost for a Jr. VIP is $97 per year plus the $30 per year per service. This has been in place for the last 3 years. It's now simply being enforced.

Selling outside the marketplace results in a ban. This is a core rule of BHW - always has been.

@JTrussles - There is currently no place for a non reviewed marketplace.

@dhia27 - Jr. VIP's have always been asked to pay $30 per year to keep their marketplace thread live. But it's never been enforced - this has caused issues for our marketplace where service providers have left & members have ordered services but never supplied. We've been manually closing threads where this has been reported. But now this will be automatically enforced. Yes it's also been a requirement to have a Jr. VIP to have a live thread in the marketplace.

I remember receiving an alert about that $30/year requirement for my old BST thread (I closed the thread myself a year ago).

Anyway, this is a good move, DD. :)

I can't sell my service in my signature if i don't have approved sale thread for it in marketplace ? even I'm JR member ?

No, this means that if you post a thread randomly trying to offer your services outside the marketplace. Sig is safe in some respects.

I'm enjoying seeing the enforcement of rules around here lately. I did think the marketplace could use a little cleansing.

Is the $30 charge for members whose Jr.Vip has expired since they launched their service, or is it applicable to everyone?

A very welcomed step. It will clear out some of the old market place threads and it is nice to see that the item/service being offered will need to be reviewed again.

I understand why this is being done and totally support it. It helps to make the market place a better experience for everyone concerned.
