The only advantage is, that you can sell in the marketplace.

Whether it's worth it or not is like asking whether it's profitable to get a business license. Well we can't know, can we. Depends on what you are trying to sell. If your sales thread takes off and you offer something with decent demand, then yeah, i t's very well worth it. However, there's another option and that is to get 100 posts, wait a couple months, pay $99 for Jr VIP and then open a sales thread for $30.

Think it's better to hang around for awhile, add some value and contribute to the forum and buy Jr. VIP / open a BST when you're eligible to. Will help build a name for yourself and trust with the other members here. Just my .02!

Not sure what it is you're thinking of selling, but hopefully it's not a content service.
As others have suggested you need to have a product to sell that offers value and is top quality, so it will pass the review process.

Would I buy from a seller with 3 posts ? Not a chance, not even 30 posts. Just my personal thoughts on it.

Since you are trying to sell something you have to be good in something....

Write some post(s) here (like tutorial) and let other people learn/see small part of your know-how... so people can see you are nice guy and you are sharing with community for free. I think its more possible that people will buy from you if they see you are willing to share with newbies. Many reputable sellers on market made their reputation by sharing with community.

Its not about number of posts, its about quality.

Lets say i want to buy something from someone on BHW marketplace - i check his latest started threads. It can really tell alot.

    Good luck :)

It's not just post count, it;s also the number of likes/thanks you have. If you share something worthwhile, people will acknowledge this.

As @satyr85 says, if you're wanting to sell ( as an example ) Worpress based websites, then answer questions on the forum where people are stuck or needing help on Wordpress matters. If you show that you know what you're talking about . This it is a start.

If you're a logo designer, then giveaway 5 or 6 banners / logos in the Freebies/Giveaway section, so people can see the quality of your work.
