    Greetings,

I recently bought a new domain and it's now appearing on page 1, position 3. The site has been indexed by Google for about a week or so now. Here's where I'm confused.

Market Samurai shows based on phrase match - 217 searches, 91 seot, 67% PBR, 35000 SEOC, 3970 SEOTC, 11% SEOTCR, $2.54 AWPCPC, 91% OCI and $231.50 SEOV.

I'm only getting a handful of traffic, about 7 at the most per day thus far and the click payouts via adsense was as high as $.35 and low as $.07!!! WTF??

I'm confused about this since I expected more traffic and payouts based on the data. Any insight would be DEEPLY appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

I don't have Market Samurai but doesn't that 217 searches mean 217 searches per month? That's like 7 searches per day.

I have similar experiences where the estimated Market Samurai traffic for a specific keyword was 90,000 searches per day, and I get only two or three daily clicks on my web page in organic search, and I am number 1 or 2 in google for that keyword.
What I am doing now is before investing too much time in a keyword/website that looks interesting from a traffic and competition perspective, to launch an adwords campaign for a couple of hours, and bidding in such way that I am on page one (8th or 9th position). You see very fast in the number of impressions what the traffic amounts are going to be (without spending too much money).

Or it's just a big scam... It let's people go after keywords that get less than 100 searches per month and people rank really easy for those keywords in the top 10.

I too have had similar experiences and it's very
disheartening.I now take the route bolly878 mentions.

It costs a bit of money but gives me realistic results
    I can depend on.

I checked Market Samurai daily search data with the data in the google keyword suggestion tool (in adwords), and it gave similar search volumes. Therefore I think this concerns rather errors in the search engine google data itself, than in the market samurai program itself. But it is indeed wise to double check samurai data with other sources, where available. It is frustrating to work days or weeks to optimize a website for a specific keyword (with high traffic expectations), to find out afterwards the projected traffic is not there at all......

Are you guys sure market samurai hasn't altered your browser so that it seems like you're in the top 10 but it's just a fake ranking. Browser Hijack for example.

First, make sure it is set to search for the 'exact' and not phrase or broad match. Second, I have tested MS against Google keyword external and if you use the same match type it is balls on every time. I believe it uses monthly for search volume and not daily (unlike MNF)

    Peace,
    O

No I don't think market samurai does that but Gmail does if you have visited a website more then ones it well rank it higher just for you. so make sure you are not login into Gmail when you check your rankings.

Set MS to 'exact phrase' and try it again.

Just look at the SEOC, and the SEOTC. Then check the sites that rank for that keyword. If all the sites look like youtube videos, mahalo, ehow and things like that then you have a good shot at getting a keyword rich domain and moving up to the first page pretty fast.

But don't always take MS for it's word, check these results for yourself with the google keyword tool. If you also have micro niche finder, check with that to. Come up with a system that these keywords have to pass before you invest too much time in them.

    Lol.

Are you serious or is this a joke?

MS works directly with Google's servers, so you are getting the most accurate info you can out there. I have tested many KW tools, and MS has been the most accurate by far.

The search volumes it gives are daily searches, so that 210 is per day.

As with any tool, you need to first make sure you actually take the time to know how to use it properly. Yes, it can be very boring watching videos for an hour, but in the end it will save you tons of time and headaches.

Well said. So many people buy a tool, use it right away without proper preparation (=learning how it works), and then complain when they don't get the results they hoped for. IM is a BUSINESS and has to be treated like one.
