Hi BHWers, I was hoping to bounce this scenario off of some of the more seasoned vets here to perhaps help point us in the right direction as we're still a long way off in terms of our SEO. Our money site has been around about 5 years or so but has only recently in the last 4/5 months had a proper SEO investment. We are using an SEO company to do this and they are purely whitehat, We pay them GBP 200 per month to do our article submissions, social bookmarking and press releases, although we have to supply the content for all of these and so we currently purchase around 8-10 400/500 word articles per month from Ankur Kumar's article thread in BHW. We are initially targeting 16 mid to long tail key phrases, many of which we were ranking well for up till around a month ago (Top 3 pages for most of them) - However in the last month something happened and most of the keywords no longer rank in Google top 100, we have only one left on page 7 for a low competition keyword and this is dropping lower every day. I've read that Google have been doing some Algo updates lately, and speaking to colleagues in the same niche, it seems that this has affected many of their sites also. Our site has a pretty good domain name with one of our keywords in the title and is (FWIW) a fully bespoke site (ASP/MSSQL backend - Not using wordpress) which is unusual within our niche. It could however be further improved with new content and more frequent updates. We're also not yet fully harnessing Social Media - though we have Twitter/Facebook/G+ follow links from the homepage. Seeing as we are still ranking (Page 7) for one keyword it suggests to me that Google is still recognising us (i.e. not blacklisted), but we're not getting any traffic or customers from this. So, a few questions off the back of this: Due to the investment we've put into the site so far, it's be great to make it work - However being pragmatic, would we be wise to continue to work on this site or would we be better off starting from scratch on a new site with wordpress and get all the SEO and social signals right from the very beginning? Also, can anyone recommend anyone on BHW (Or indeed elsewhere) who can effectively manage their facebook/twitter and/or g+ pages for them? We know that these areas are important to Google but due to lack of experience and time constraints we would look to outsource this if at all feasible. If there's any other advice anyone can give about improving our situation I'd be grateful for this also. Thank you in advance for your kind help. Lynysys.
