    Hello,
Im willing to open new website with many subdomains ( i mean like "http://www.x.com/a ,http://www.x.com/b" ..etc.. ) with many niches each.
So what will be the best domain to buy for that? should i buy a domain with general text?
and for your opinion is that going to work? google will be able to rank them even if the main domain is general?

    Thank you!

Will it be a reviews site? Or an authority site with information about many niches?

You might want to look at about, and see how they work. Get ideas from them, and replicate with creative twists.

I don't see the point on this. Just work on your main domain and build an authority site.

    Those aren't subdmains, that's a subdirectory. "a.x.com" is a subdomain.

A domain with the least number of letters and general would be best. But unless the niches don't have at least one keyword in common, it will be hard for you to gain good rankings with any one niche, unless your SEO on-page and off is great.

I do. I THINK he is trying to invest all the links he can on this particular site in order to only focus on one and once that homepage gets a million links or something with a very high PR, it would be easier for him to rank for the niches he wants to. It's a noble attempt but pretty hard to do since you will probably be contending against a handful of sites that know their thing.

You can, but that also depends on the amount of work, time and money you are willing to invest in.

Think about article directories. They covered every niche on earth. They become authorities because they are getting a lot of links. So besides content, you need heaps of links.

Considering you're going to start a few domains, you might end up with two half-hearted effort on broad sites. Maybe lots of content but not enough links. That may not work. Or should I say, will work better if you invest on keyword-based domain and niche-specific content.

Your content may determine the direction too. If you want to create product reviews only, the content are much more limited. You can use informational keywords to drive traffic to review content but that may or may not be what you want.

Also if you want to use greyhat SEO (you know what I mean), then consider if other site owners would trust your site. (Why would someone trust a review site which affiliate links all over the place? That might work in the past, things obviously change.)

You have a lot of research work to do. Some authority sites have PR 7 or 8. Look at what they've done and see if you can compete. Don't waste your time otherwise.

Do give a thought about putting all your eggs in one basket. It might be better to have several domains and group closely related niches together per domain.

All you need is a penalty from google ...

You can't SEO with that offensive mindset. I think what OP wants to do is better for setting up a long term, one-place, authority site. I mean just 1 domain that will cater to multiple niches is quite good, both for users and SE's.

Only if OP plays the darkest BH SEO tactics, he should be worried about penalties.

I think it's better to buy a different domain for each niche. Putting "all your eggs in one basket" so to speak and wearing all those hats on one site can quickly be a nightmare. Better to focus and be great in one niche and make money than to be mediocre at a bunch of them. Not doubting your SEO skills, but there are only 24 hours in a day.
