To spice up my businesses boring Twitter page. What are your guys thoughts on me running the account under an alias? It doesn't exactly follow suit of my industry's standard way of doing things. But isn't that what social is about - being a little disruptive? Maybe not all the time, but some tweets once in a while.

Would like to know your thoughts.

An example would be Cisco beginning to run their account as an artificial intelligence every so often, and signing off tweets as " - A.I " (terrible example but hope you get the idea)

    Cheers

I think it could be a great idea if you do it well.

Why not create a 2nd account and run them both concurrently?

You could then give the 2nd account any persona you wanted. You could have a 'nice' twitter and a 'naughty' twitter for example, or a 'dayshift' and a 'nightshift'.

Having them arguing with each other, or coming up with differing ideas, could be a great way of engaging your audience and testing different ideas/offers/plans.

That way you could more easily gauge the impact and if the results were negative you could just kill off the 2nd account.

That is a great idea, thanks for your input.

Would you suggest having them as two separate accounts that interact with the main company account? e.g

@MainCompanyAccount: New iPhone Update 8.1 to extend battery life by 13%
Replies - @NaughtyAccount: Ha, you're still with iOS! I hope you are having fun with Apple Maps. Android all the way!
Replies - @NiceAccount: iOS is a really stable platform, android is flexible.. they both have their pro's and cons, it's just a preference.

    Thanks!
