I was wondering how does search engines, mostly googl, react if I make some of my links white with white background? So no one really can see those links if they dont check source. Planning some link exchange but either of us dont want any visible links, but wondering if theres something we should worry (google giving penalty for cloaking links?)

Google spiders see color. They'll devalue any links like that.

This is the sort of thing people used to do in the, 'olden days' of IM. People would put massive blocks of keywords that weren't visible to a human viewer.. I think it used to work but G caught on pretty quick..

Yep - Google is smarter than that. Don't try it with tiny text or images either.
