Does anyone have experience with this? It seems like given the right script, this could be fairly automated. But How is money made? Affiliations? I would like to run some kind of coupon script, I don't want to be processing payments. Is there a good Wordpress plugin/theme for this that can take RSS feeds? And then besides maybe ad space, how exactly is commission made, or what is the main method of profit here?

I use WP with clipper theme that I have modified a lot.
Then I made custom php script that get all deals from CJ affiliate network and insert them daily to my site via API.

Be ready for hard work on SEO for this kind of site bro!!!

Big players are already in game long time and you will really need to work hard on it.

Try to make smaller niche targeted coupon code site...still you will need a lot to work/money for link building.

If it's your first coupon site, I'd start by doing things manually and choosing a specific coupon niche (e.g. web hosting coupons) - do your keyword research first to see if it's easily rankable. Then find the best coupons and use affiliate links (hide coupon behind a button that opens the site with an affiliate link).

I just bought a domain of flippa which is not niche unfortunately, but I thought it was a good name and I think I have somewhat of a target. I am hoping to basically automate the site so I can work on SEO.

I am having trouble finding some specifics on actually running it though. I heard about this thing icodez, didn't get a lot of info. It also seems like there aren't too many themes out there.

Not an easy thing to choose in IM. Better you do a proper SEO plan and focus on it and proceed.

We'll.. I just spent $80 in the domain name which may have been stupid. I need to spent another $80 for the wordpress coupon script (of which the theme is not all that great). So.. This may have been a very bad start as I will need some fiverr gigs as well I assume.

If I got like 1000 visitors per day with this kind of niche, how much will I earn? For example, if I use godaddy, hostgator affiliate...

    Thanks

Depends how high the quality the visitors are. Generally speaking coupon sites appeal to people already in the sales funnel.

Typically secondary research so just 1 step from buying. This is why you often see review sites plus coupon sites.
So depending on your site, conversion rate, and payout it could be really good...or really meh

someone made alot of money with coupon sites buy offering a free sample of some kind but then just directing them to there main site to make money from them. must have a capture page and free offer no matter even a gift card.
