    Hey there,

My SEO website went online the other day. The domain contains the keyword seo and has less than 6 letters long; I offer a free ebook that I've written upon email submission.

Everything is connected with AWeber and follow up messages. What now? Waiting for organic traffic is not an option, that will take some weeks to kick in.

I decided to post on some forums and put the URL in the signature. However, I haven't received any visitors yet. I've worked so hard to write the book, design it and the website and am really looking forward to a return.

Any ideas on how to make money? I know, it's the traffic but where to get it?

So you've written an ebook about SEO, but you don't know anything about SEO?

Tell us more about your SEO site. What is your main goal?

To get SEO clients. To get SEO students?

I feel weird explaining SEO to someone who wrote a book on it. Send me a PM with your URL, so I can get a better idea of your goals. I'll PM you back my thoughts.

PS> I run an SEO company, I get organic traffic, and it's a few months old.

You uncovered the scheme. Anyone want to the the website now?

In other words, what would you do with a new site to get instant traffic? PPC right away?

To answer your first question: The goal is to generate a full-time income from the website.

I don't do nor want to do consulting. The idea is kind of like what John Chow does only with a primary focus on SEO.

The book is a SEO guide for beginners. Unlike many other free guides I've read this one is really practice-oriented.

I am not able to send PMs yet.

grevenmtg2: Sure, this is what I intent to do anyway. It will generate traffic in the long run. I am asking about almost instant traffic.

Maybe you could find some longtail keywords that get some traffic and write some press releases that target those keywords... of course your press release will have links to your site.

To be fair to the OP, I guess someone could be good at SEO (meaning ranking on first page); but still not be good at driving traffic in other ways. Really, I see these as two distinctly different skills.
