    Hey guys/girls.

I sing and play guitar.. and when I say that I mean I REALLY do it. Its pretty much all I do lately. I have been told by many people that I have an exceptional voice. I have taken singing lessons and guitar lessons for a long time. I have about two ours of material with my drummer and I am starting to think about capitalizing my talent. Paying back those lessons and guitars I have bought.

I thought I would ask some bright minds online if they had any unique strategies of making some money and developing more of a fanbase. For backround, I do know the basics of SEO and have belonged to IM for a while. I have looked into making youtube videos but many of the songs I do are covers and copyright infringement. (that doesn't matter, ill post them but youtube will never allow me to monetize those videos.)

Ide love some ideas! Ill keep you posted!

If you and your drummer can pump out a lot of music, you can create royalty-free stock music and sell it. It's a bit harder to sell art than it is to sell a product that helps someone complete their own product, which is exactly what stock music is. People need it for their own multimedia projects.

Another option is to give away your stock music for free and monetize with adsense or something similar.

Any way you look at it, some type of SEO or marketing will be involved.

If that's your passion then go for it - post a video on youtube and try to promote it.

Get started by Creating Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ accounts for yourself. Slowly promote these accounts. Create a youtube channel and begin performing. Post the videos on your social networkign accounts.

First and foremost, as some have mentioned, get yourself on twitter, fb, etc. If you have any of your own work, upload to YouTube, DailyMotion, etc with appropriate keywords. And then find talent shows/contests. Even if you don't think you'll win, you often get great exposure. One site I could suggest (that I check out frequently) is makeastar. It's free registration and an international site, so you get views and votes from around the globe. It could potentially mean exposure with the added benefit of entering anew every month. Another I recently heard of is a new talent search called opening act, where they bring people discovered on the net to LA to participate. Worthwhile giving these a bash.
