I see lots of people on social media advertising MLM products. Its easy to sport them by there hashtags, and really easy to get in touch with them by pretending to be interested in making money or buying the product they sell. The trick is what can we offer to them? Im thinking of making a website that will "increase there sales and network". Wink wink. There gotta be something that they can be tricked into buying in hopes to make them more money. Any ideas?

If someone's doing MLM for making a living, unless they are in the top 2-3 rows in the pyramid, they are already F*cked, i don't know if making more $$ of them is a good idea.

You will have an incredibly difficult time selling to MLM unless you are pitching something MLM. These are not typical opportunity seekers, and will spot complete bullshit generally quickly UNLESS it's MLM. They cannot resist the allure of easy money made via Ponzi schemes. lol.

No it's not a good idea unless you can seriously fulfill their lead needs, or have a better MLM plan for them to get involved with.

MLM or Pyramid selling is illegal in the UK, if you are not in the UK you could offer them shoutouts on social media, supply business opportunity leads etc. I doubt very much if many would be interested as they are already being stung by a scheme that cannot ever work, there is not enough people in the world to fill downlines so many just fall apart.

I'm new to SEO but MLM guys were actually some of my first clients. First off they usually understand the concept of "it takes money to make money" since they have already starting buying product. Which is a great place to start. The first one that approached me basically wanted help setting up an auto-responder system and a way to track/funnel leads. He pays me $250/month and I host a small landing page that is ranked for a few focused buying keywords related to his product. Each time he signs a new client up (and he does) he refers them over to me for a similar setup.

Basically just a spin off the rank and bank strategy you have seen all over the internet. Just instead of trying to target "locksmith" you are targeting the next fly by night MLM product.

Interesting thread, I've known a few people that actually fell for MLM and I've tried to tell them how it was a scam and they all react the same. They become really defensive and talk about how great it is and the profit proof, etc. Wondering if I can decipher the psychology behind this and sell them some crapy like list management and autoresponders similar to linkincubus.

a few days ago i saw a system for "online advertising / online marketing" in a mlm-pattern.
There ist no real product, there ist no real attendance - nothing.

    It works like this:
    - the "official story":
We deliver online marketing space to our clients on our website - which means you can go to your local businessmen and sell them a place for their ad´s on the webpage of this mlm-company. Every client who is booking a place for placing his ad´s becomes part of the "partner network".

And now the fishy part comes in:

    * Every "Partner" buys credits - 5 $ for 500 page impressions (!) ;) and sell them to the local businessmen (or not, or advertising your own stuff, etc)
    * The Partner who sold this will get a 650 Points revenue share for that (which is worth 6.5 $) - in a few months
    * Plus: the more points you have - the more revenue (monthly 1 % or so) you will get
    * Plus: a part of the money is distributed within the HOLE NETWORK of partners (WTF?)
    * But instead of "take the money and run" - you should buy another bunch of points to increase your revenue (remember - the more points the more revenue)
    * You can even get a "Manager" for buying enough points

    * I looked at the website - and there are no ads at all !!!
    * I watched their videos and there are almost no information about the sales of the ads - only about the "great business opportunity" and the revenue-system. Almost nothing about KPI´s or Unique Users, Targeting groups, etc - you should just buy coins, do nothing (if you want you can sell some ad´s to your local business... blablabla) and wait for the money!

I contacted a "Partner" on YouTube which is pushing the system very often and very hard and asked him about KPI´s, CPC, etc and guess what? He dosent know anything about online marketing, relevant KPI´s or something like that!

I can´t believe there is a crowd of so massive bloody dumb people out there! I just freakin´can´t!
Which miserable bloody son of a b**** buy´s "coins" (this is no product!) worth a thousand dollars, will get coins worth of 10 $ back in a few month and is happy with??? Blaming yourself on YouTube, jelling "Hell yeah! The System is working great! Look at me! I made passive income! And I will buy more of this freakin´coins to make even more passive income!!!"

It looks like a giant bubble is going to implode in the future and a few men will be awfully rich - but not the man on YouTube.
But guess what? I will not begrudge the founder of this system is smiling on a tropical island in 1 - 2 years. When people are so awfully dumb they will deserve it!

    Best regards from Germany

PS: Why the hell i did not found this company! Dude, there is a lots of money to be made!

OP you just gave me a huge idea

I used to combat the MLM folks all the time (in fact some very good army friends of mine fell for a recently popular MLM scheme) and I feel like I have a very good understanding of their psychology and methods.

OP your post, however, gave me the perfect thing to market to MLM'ers. I'll report back upon success (hopefully, at least, I'm still new to IM) but I see some huge results coming from this idea.

By the way, here's the reason why OP is on the right track (I believe so, at least): As already stated earlier in the thread, MLMers understand the "gotta spend money to make money" principle. If they are in an MLM, they've already, before you even pitch or talk to them, have spent money. Considerable money, probably. The same way how a gambler chases his bad bets with further bad bets, MLMers will spend money if they believe they will make more money quicker and easier than the money they spend. They're both lazy and hardworking at the same time, if that makes sense.

To summarize: They already have spent money, and they clearly aren't afraid to. If you can market to them an idea to make their initial investment worthwhile...and that's all I'll say on the matter

A lot of people in MLM are borderline BROKE and chasing a DREAM.
They don't have cash to spend, UNLESS you can offer them a better DREAM.

So what? That doesn't mean they won't spend money. You don't even have to charge much. Most MLM's have an investment of 100+ dollars and still sign up plenty a day. WakeUpNow specificallytargeted poor people and signed up tens of thousands. People will still invest money, even if they have very little, under the impression that they will make a lot more through easy work and "networking." This is essentially how MLM works to begin with.

[edit] re-reading your post, I can't tell if you are agreeing with my previous post or not actually, haha. But I do agree with you, they will spend money if you offer a better dream ;)

I didn't read your previous post.

Bottom line, MLM is for clowns.
