so the original post bacially said "offer free websites in return for affiliate commision"
i decided to tweak this alot, set up a reseller, offer packages for about £25 a month, then add on other packages like SEO and management services. i would offer a free domain, free website, just pay for hosting.

i then advertised on online classifieds around my local area, also in local newspapers. even with just the online response was huge, about 40 - 50 leads a day, converting in to 5 - 6 sales a day. i currently am just one week into this idea and i alreay have 34 clients.

the average client pays £34 a month, plus £45 setup fees.

so far i have i have taken £2700. with, so far £1100 a month in reocorring payments, my client base is expanding so rapidly.

    more about designing the websites...

most people ask for indformation stites, we ussually do it over phone, meetings for local people. i can design a website within 2 hours, using a lovely online tool.. www*weebly*com.. you can put ecommerce, blogs, flash images, loads of crap.. i charge £50-£200 for "complicated" wordpress or joomla websites, which take me about 4 hours max. my clients are always really happy with the service.

the best bit is, i am now working with fashion model coach who worked with valantino and PAUL MCARTNEY!!! 5 star hotel meeting tomorrow..

wish me the best of luck!

    How are you getting paid?
People pay you by paypal or cash, and then you pay the hosting? Or they directly pay the hosting?

    hi there,

thank you all, its actully very easy!
just offer a free website, noobs jump at the chance, just offer everything free except hosting, and instead of a quick £70 for an easy website, take £500 per year! i plan to get 150 customers on my server.

    with those figures:
    setup fees = £6750
    monthly profits = £5100
    total yearly = £67950

dudes, get to this! its so stupidly simple!!! even noobs at web design can fool anyone if you download templates, use online website makers... i did..

    Hi Ardley,

How much development do you do to the websites?

Do you include any content development, quick reply boses, search boxes or any refinements? Or do you just give them a basic website with a graphic header and let the customers fill in the blanks?

    Great post thanks!

I have a question though, how does this whole reseller thing work?

I have my own Baby Account with GoDaddy and I can put as many domains on that as I want. Whats difference between this and a reseller programme?

Also, how do your clients pay you? Paypal? Cash? Cheque?

One more thing, how much do you pay for your reseller hosting package every month?

@natewex- on godaddy im guessing you have an account where you can just add domains... hostgator works by allowing you to create multiple accounts for users and have your own "reselling business" in effect. so instead of someone signing up through hostgator they sign up through you. you can usually pay for your reseller account with a credit card and maybe paypal (not sure)

Ah yeah you're right, its actually hostgator Im using!

So what you're saying is they sign up through an affiliate link (your hostgator aff link) and you get paid by hostgator monthly (rather than the client) - is that it?

    thanks

congrats and please keep us updated as you continue.
For those already doing this: do u find that clients want many changes usually, and do u charge them if it's a major amount of work?

a hostgator reseller and hostgator affiliate are two different things. you can do this method using either depending on whether you want to shell out the money for the reseller account. type in google "hostgator affiliate" and you will find all the info you need
