If I were to have thousands of active email addresses of people who fit in a certain category would people really be interested in buying this list? I'm not sure how much I should charge. Lists might include people who are gamers, artists, ect.

It depends on who the people are and their responsiveness to your emails. I'd recommend sending out an email and recording the click through rate. This will be a statistic potential buyers will be looking for.

Good quality email lists are highly sought after, but price will depend on the type of list. A list of people with bad credit history and cancelled credit cards will be less attractive than a list of millionaire wives with a shopping addiction.

it depends in where you got those list if you just scrape it or extracted in some database.

I guess it depends on the niche ;)
Arguably a debt settler may be looking for the less fortunate people and pay more for their leads than leads to the rich.

I once had a company that (for one product) targeted bankrupt people. Got shitloads of leads but soon realized it had been a mistake making credit card the only payment option...
