Hi guys - I run a UK Business Forum - Biz Forums (Co UK) and I'm struggling to make any revenue from it just yet - how would you go about monetizing a forum?

are you displaying ads / adsense?

if you have lots of members, maybe you can come up with some premium area and charge for subscription and etc..

It's about 3 months old, 400 members and 15k posts - really aggressive SEO strategy (white hat) so I don't think a premium membership would work just yet saying that i'm inexperienced running a forum.

well, then just wait to grow your forum more..

meanwhile i think you can put ads/adsense between posts or inline.. also you can make a bst section and charge some small fee for listings that will raise with the time when its gets more popular..

also you might attract some advertisers that will pay you for sticky threads to promote their products.. banner spots and etc..

3 months is way too soon to be trying to monetize a forum. Focus on growth for now. Look to start monetizing when you have a consistent number of posts each day and a loyal user base. Trying to make money out of it at this stage is going to be an uphill struggle.
