I'm new here, so be easy on me. Moving on...

    MY INTERESTS:
After having stumbled upon this site a few short days ago, I've learned a lot. At this point, I'm still not sure if I'm going to go he affiliate route or skip it and become a vendor. I'm not really interested in the other stuff yet. To each our own, right?

WARNING: This post could easily fit in other subcategories in this forum, but you'll soon find out why I chose to put it here in the blog category.

    TODAY'S STORY:
Anyhow, upon reading an ad in Craigslist today I decided to do a little investigation. I came upon the headline "DONATIONS NEEDED FOR A FALLEN FAMILY OF 5 PLEASE READ..." Knowing that many of you here post to Craigslist, curiosity got the best of me and I clicked on it. The ad was simple. It read "Sometimes people need a little help so they can make it, now we are in the need and we will not make it with out help. .. . Please take a moment to read about our situation here "site DOT twittertwitts4help DOT com". Your time and support is greatly appreciated." Upon following this link to a blog, I soon discovered that I was reading a "story" of some man's plight during these economic hardships. Right away, he explains how he has lost his job and is simply looking to get enough donations to keep his family afloat so that he may move to Houston. At the bottom of his page he has a PayPal link labeled "donations". At the top of his blog he has a tally of $1,556.89 having been donated to his family.

Now, I don't know if this guy is really legit or not, but I'm a bit reluctant to believe that anyone ever donated any amount that wasn't in even dollars. Where the hell did the 89 cents come from? Someone didn't feel like donating a whole dollar through PayPal? Or did this man just not figure out that PayPal takes out a percentage, leaving him with an odd amount, because he really is that much of an idiot? But I digress. Picking on the guy is not what I meant to do regardless of whether he's legit or not.

    THE RESEARCH:
What I really find interesting are the things I dug up. If you type the words "FALLEN FAMILY OF 5" in Google (with quotes), you'll quickly find that this guy almost exclusively solicits Craigslist. Upon clicking many of the links, you'll find that his posts have been banned, but not all of them.

If you visit his site at "site DOT twittertwitts4help DOT com", you'll find the username that he goes by as well as in the other pages that he links to. His username is ammons316.

So if you type "ammons316" in Google, you'll find AN F-ING TON of backlinks to his main blog site. There are 316 hits on his username alone, most all of which are his. Now, I have no idea if this is complete happenstance... perhaps this guy was that desperate to beg that he posted everywhere he could think of and discover. I have about 29 places his name shows up within the first 8 pages on Google that I recorded just for a reference (for my own devices).

I think we could all learn from this dude. I plan on going past page 8 in Google to see where else he shows up at. There's a few other things that I've found that make it "seem" all the more legit - even if it isn't.

    PERSONAL APPEAL:
This guy has profiles, complete with a phone number and all, listed for everyone to see. One of the sites he posted it is at "www DOT resumebucket DOT com/Ammons316". Gee, isn't it funny that his username is in the URL? F-ING amazing.

    MY PERSONAL OPINION:
I think this guy is a F-ING SCAM. Not long into my online investigation I found "www DOT pokerhand DOT org/?4009242" and "www DOT pokerhand DOT org/?4011060". Does it seem like a guy on the verge of losing his home would be out gambling? And with the kind of money he made, would it seem like he is hurting for money? Of course not.

Now I'm the kind of idiot that likes to give people the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps this guy really was desperate and did whatever he could online to get where he has gotten. Perhaps he stumbled upon something that would prove to be profound to himself and just ran with it. The question is, if it wasn't working, then why the hell does he have so many damn backlinks?

    AT ANY RATE:
Perhaps he didn't do it right, like the linkwheel method, but he sure is darn close. What can we learn from this guy? Personally, as I said before, I'm going to go through all of his links that show up under his username in Google. Perhaps there is something to be learned. If you find out something before I do that hasn't already been learned here, please do me the courtesy and let me know. Perhaps it is one of you who is doing this.

    CLOSING QUESTIONS:
Is there anything this guy is doing that I can duplicate over and over? If his stats he's showing are remotely true, he's only been at this one month from what I can tell, and has made over $1000. Thats more than I can say I've made in a month from IM and many of you as well. So lets figure it out.

Thanks for reading my findings. I wish you all success in your endeavors!

You can easily make over $1000 in a month in IM just by getting a programmer to make a useful too that you know people want - look at all the twitter tools coming out.

If you pay attention to what's already selling in the IM niche - there are a ton of things people would buy from you if you just had them to offer as your own.

most likey he is struggling to make money in IM and has resorted to internet begging. those results have a 99% change of being fake. i mean if i was doing that i would just make up a random number too. i think u put too much effort into this obvious scam. if i was in dire straights i know that begging online wouldnt get me out, unless i made videos where i proved i was real and needed help but even then i wouldnt make enough money fast enough to stay afloat.

scam, uve never tried begging online before?

I don't get why this story is here at all. Damn, I wasted 2 minutes of reading time. You are investing too much time and energy in this guys method instead of working on your own.

This guy's main site where he collects money is his blog. All of his backlinks are pointing to his blog. His backlinks are coming from classifieds, social networks, other blogs, a resume page, and even charity websites. Thats why I put it here.

I think the guy is making money or he wouldn't keep doing it.

No I haven't and don't think I ever will. I'd at least offer something in return for the money to keep out of jail.
