After reading on this forum mainly, plus elsewhere i decided to take action in October last year and build myself some niche sites.
I started by picking subjects / niches that i was familiar with and had knowledge and enthusiasm for.
I done 5 sites , 2 on Blogger, 3 on Wordpress, started my 6th last month and my earnings have been £45 for dec, £29 for January and £40 for Ferbruary. Not much i know but its a start and after looking at the stats i can see which sites are earning more than others. I am using EPN, Amazon and Webgains for my affiliate links as they seem suited to the niches i was promoting. I am on page 1 for 2 of the sites for the main keyword with monthly searches listed at 12,000 for the most popular site.
What i am asking is just any tips you can give to boost the earnings to a better level? I have done the following, SEO page optimisation (still learning on that), forum post with links in signature, links from other site that are associated with my niches. Woud Xrumer or Scrapebox help?. are these easy to use?
Any other tips much appreciated and i must say this site has been great for inspiration and knowledge.:D

well sounds like your thinking small , not much cash to be made from such small projects. niche sites in theory aren't something to try and get rich from. you say you have 4.well there's a start for ya
if it were one major project i would recommend ya a cpa network or something. but with a niche i think the best ya can do is with affiliate ads and a lil adsense. are you selling anything on your sites, or are they just content?

It is original content, reviews, comparisons etc, with links to related affiliate products.
I do plan to do more sites once i have optimised these first.

If you get £10/month/site why not expand? 20 sites will give you £200/month passive income.

Also, how many white hat relevant links do you have and how do you get them?

How micro are the sites? And, as others say, you just need to work on volume now. Try to go from 4 to 40 sites in the next few months.

You say you use Blogger/WP - is that on your own domains?

Use themes that give you a higher CTR. Scale it up to more sites. If xrumer and scrapebox help, hell yeah but don't over do it.

I would try and optimise earnings on what you have - play around with theme and ad placement.

When you have reached maximum potential, scale it up - build 1 site a week or whatever - the great thing is you are making money so you have a scalable model.

I'm also on the same mission, just playing with one site at the minute to get it ranked and get some small earnings, then going to carry on scaling up!

I am making roughly the same as you OP, some months are better than others, some are worse. I am currently coming up with a few new ideas. The sites I have created so far do not have much potential for making mega money, so I am looking at a few ideas that will hopefully change that. I created my own blog to chart my progress with this, PM me if you are interested in following me on my journey.
Best of luck to you and your online adventures!
    :)

I think they just lower your revenue instead of banning, or may be it was just me?

Spend some time browsing BHW and learn how to develop a comprehensive plan to develop your site and build other sites. Just using a few tools without a plan will most likely just get you sand-boxed or at the very least, lackluster earnings.

What theme are you using? I've just started with niche sites and decided to use the CTR theme and my ctr% sucks. Trying to find a better theme to use with adsense and cpa offers.
