I have some buying keywords on the first page of google. It only got a couple hundred of monthly searches though..

The page was converting even when the page was on the 2nd page of google but not that much though. Now that its in first page... I guess I was expecting more out of it. Like at least a sale each day whether it's the product I am promoting or not. Feels like it's just the same though?

Could it be because the keyword only got a couple hundred of searches and I should target more on the thousand range? Should I push it to top 1 SEO wise? Or is this normal, even to a veteran Amazon Affiliate that I should not expect to make a sale every day? It can get quite addicting to check the Amazon Associate account to see if you got a sale.

Depends on so many factors but talking about my own websites, my conversion rate is around 7%. So if you send 100 people to amazon everyday you should have 7 sales. And lets say around 25% of your visitors click your links to amazon, you would need 400-500 visitor a day to your website.

But as I said it depends on what type of niche your in, how target your traffic is and do you promote high priced items or low priced etc etc...

    It's a numbers game.

The more people you have at your fingertips, the better (especially on a daily basis).

Can be a problem about design. Probably discractions in the webpage. Recently I removed the sidebar and I added a comparison table which redirects to Amazon.

    It can be anything..

How many visitors do your page receive ?
Are they from USA (If you use US Amazon site) ?
How many of them click and goto Amazon through your ads ?
Maybe the keyword is not a buyers keyword, just one they would search info ?

Also you can't expect sales just from one keyword. Specially when it comes to Amazon. You have to rank at first 4 places even in dozen keywords to have some regular sales in most of the time. Unless it's a keyword which has lots of monthly searches and also buyers keyword.

Hi guys, thanks for the response! Google Analytics tells me I am only getting roughly about 10-20 visitors a day. I know it's not much... but I was expecting it to increase when I got to first page of Google. Looks like I am getting roughly the same amount. At least 8 from that would try to visit an Amazon site per day most of the time I don't really get the a sale. Sometimes, I just get 1-3 visitors and they would actually buy the item. It depends purely on luck. I am targeting US traffic, as I noticed they are the ones who really buy the items. The items roughly cost around $200-$300.

I do have other page, that reviews really expensive items on the same niche. I am not getting that much clicks from there yet, probably because it's playing between the first and the 2nd page of Google (In the 10th or 11th place).

As you can probably tell... and what I suspect is... I am not getting enough clicks yet. Is it that important to get to the top of Google? As in the top 1? I thought it's just all about getting to the first page to get more traffic, looks like I am wrong. :p

For you guys out there who are able to send 100 traffics to Amazon a day through Google traffic. Were you able to make a sale every day?
What are your experience when you try to sell really expensive items? Like something that cost thousands of dollars?
