    How hard is it to make a .exe that just opens a web page? If it's easy could you tell me how? I have no programing experience. If you have to have basic programing knowledge(which I don't have) to do this, then I would be happy to pay someone to have the file made.
    Thanks!

    It would help us to help you if you tell us what it is that you want to do.

    I want the .exe to automatically open a website, just like a shortcut to a website except in .exe form. I would like it to open to the website instantly when double clicked.

    Why not download winrar and make a .url shortcut and make an SFX auto exe, with everything silent and pick a nice exe icon for it.

    You could do this with NSIS.
    Code:
     http://nsis.sourceforge.net
    . My installers create a short cut on the users desktops and pop a URL..

    With NSIS you would probably want to build a silent installer that just does a shellexec call of "open http://www.your-url.com".

    Look up Auto*It (free)
    Code:
    hxxp://w3.autoit*script.c0m/autoit3/
    You can do what you want in under 20 lines of scripting. Here's an example I just made:
    http://www.happy-yes.com/viewer.php?file=u7jvu9wo4xkz325d3b87.jpg

    Here's the code for it:
    Code:
    #include <GUIConstants.au3>
    #include <IE.au3>

    _IEErrorHandlerRegister ()
    $oIE = _IECreateEmbedded ()

    GUICreate("EXE That Opens A Web Page Example", 820, 580, _
            (@DesktopWidth - 780) / 2, (@DesktopHeight - 580) / 2, _
            $WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOW + $WS_VISIBLE + $WS_CLIPSIBLINGS)

    $GUIActiveX = GUICtrlCreateObj($oIE, 10, 10, 800, 550)

    GUISetState()

    _IENavigate ($oIE, "http://www.blackhatworld.com/?")

    While 1
        $msg = GUIGetMsg()
        Select
            Case $msg = $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
                ExitLoop
        EndSelect
    WEnd

    GUIDelete()

    Exit
    Then you just compile the script with Auto*It into an exe file, change the icon if you want a custom one and you've got what I believe you're asking for.

    Yeah that works but I hear that Autoit scripts may set off some anti-virus programs even though the program is clean, just the way Autoit was programmed or something I guess.

    just a ShellExecute call would do it. Any programming language. Auto it should work fine though.

    I think with Auto*It it depends on which includes are used for the script at the beginning, but there shouldn't be any problems with what I posted here. I've used that same setup of embedding a browser into a simple form like the example dozens of times for the old "create software and a Pad file for backlinks" scheme and never once got a report from software sites or end users about any anti-virus detections.

    You could do the same thing with any number of languages, but I figured Aut0*It would be the smallest hassle to get up and running and the easiest to use for a non-programmer since I didn't know the OP's skills.

    That would be easy to do in Visual Basic with a Shell command.
    Here is the code:

    Private Sub Form_Load()
    ShellExecute 0&, vbNullString, "http://www.YOURSITE.com", vbNullString, vbNullString, SW_SHOWNORMAL
    End Sub

    Compile and voilĂ ...

    I've been doing this for a couple of years on torrent sites to open an affiliate link to a web site that has the full version of what I'm posting. I use fl@sh to create the exe file. Its pretty easy to create an automatic web browser open up with the link you'd like when it is loaded. The only issue is getting the icon to look like a program and not a flash movie, but some skill can change that. So basically, you sign up for a site that offers free and paid versions of software, put the exe file on a site saying its the full version and when they open the exe file, it takes them to the affiliate link. it doesn't work too well but i've made a little bit of money off it, which is pretty nice since I spent ten minutes on each one.
    G00g1e some tutorials on how to open a website from actionscript and then also how to automatically open a new window

    in VB just have this onform load:
    Code:
    shell("websiteurl")
    unload me

    then goto properties, chose your icon etc.

    2 lines of code, and it'll do everything you need :p

    auto*it will comeup as a virus as it hooks to some system DLL's for calls it makes.

    hope this helps =]

    anyone wanna do this in ASM so it'll be like 150 bytes?

    Can anyone write an advanced version with the opening of the URL completely invisible to the user? :)
