I have been following the small niche space since a long time (about 2 years). I finally decided to jump in.

    Goals:

    1. Build 200 200 Micro Niche Sites
    2. Get average income per site to $10 per month
    3. Monetize with google adsense and / or amazon
    4. Device an in-expensive SEO plan to get these sites ranking.

    Challenges:
    1. Management: I understand thank building 200 sites is no easy task.
    2. Outsourcing content: Can be challenging
    3. Managing cost
    4. Google's dislike of EMDs and small sites

    Current Status:
Project was started about three months ago.
    - Keywords selected for all 200 sites
    - Domains registered for all 200 sites
    - Approximately 40 sites are up and running.

I think this is a very ambitious project. I am starting this thread to be accountable and manage my progress and seek feedback from people here. I will share my success and failures so it can help people avoid the mistakes I have made and leverage on something that works.

I expect to update this thread daily.

PS: I also have an authority site project where I am tryign to get to $3,000 PM with one site. If you would rather follow that visit here. The main distinction is that these sites individually do not receive as much love but they do need more planning. The goal with micro niche sites project is to create something scale-able, outsource the process and flip sites with authority sites, the goal is to create a valuable resource that I can be proud of.

why not build one authority site? you will earn more.

in my opinion, 200 site for making $2000 a month is not worth it.

    but good luck

Well that sounds like a solid plan. :) I personally believe that it's better
to have more than 1 site/blog/platform, just in case something happens.
Anyways, good luck with this! ;)

For each individual site, is it going to be 1 page of content per website? Or are you going to add multiple pages and/or posts?

I did something like this about 3 years ago. It gets really tedious and time consuming to manage once you hit around 50 sites. And each time a few of them gets slapped, you will spend days working to just fix that cluster.

Why not just split them up into niches and create like 10 bigger sites to target each niche? Less work, easier to rank, and less risk. Instead of 200 sites targeting 200 keywords, have 10 sites targeting 20 keywords each (per page).

In fact, it's even easier to just rank 1 site for 200 keywords by having 200 pages on it. The authority the site builds up helps support all the new pages you add to it.

In any case, best of luck to you. I hope you are successful with your journey.

No offence here, but I think you should spend more time to research some really profitable niches instead of having so many sites which aren't profitable at all :/

For example, I have developed a site in a very small niche with EMD buying related keyword which is earning about 1000 - 1100 $ per month already, after only 5 month, I am #1 for a bunch of buyer keywords without one backlink actually:banana:

Although I must admit, that I am pretty experienced in terms of on-page optimization...

My advice : Go for products that have high search volume but ZERO competition apart from your affiliate shops !

I am working on another site atm with 12.000 exact matches for the product term and about 2000 buying related searches / month for the product... I am literally the only dude whose promoting the product on the whole internet and I am banking hard already, making 250-300 $ a day [IMG] with no SEO effort at all really (apart from 5-6 backlinks from my older sites)..

I also agree with crazedspyker, having 20 authority sites is way better in the long run, since those sites are more likely to get organic links and build some authority over time. Organizing all the work / updating content on 200 sites can get pretty time consuming as well...

You might want to look into the WordPress Plugin InfiniteWP, this lets you work on all your sites from one dashboard, so you save some time maybe :)

However, good luck with your project :)

Good luck, could get quite tedious, be better if you build fewer sites with more pages to make things easier to manage.

it's a good idea but the only problem is all these website are EMDs and i'm not sure there is a possibility to save your monetization for a long time a specially with google adsense because recently we heard about many big companies are banned from google so you can make it 100 websites or less with a medium niche and put all your focus in it, it just an opinion.. good luck :)

    I should elaborate here:

Why I am doing this? I think this is a scalable approach, I expect each site to have a life cycle of 6 months after which I can flip them, re-invest and flip.

While makig these 200 sites, I want to make my process bullet porrof and out source. I am already out sourcing most of the work, expeact the planning of the sites. I will try to touch upon as much as I can in one dedicated post for this.

I am not saying this is the best approach. I go motivated to start this project after seeing the post empireflippers dot com/6-month-plan/. The pricing they are quoting are very high, I wanted to do it my self. So instead of buying sites from them, I decided to build my own.

I do feel the effort reward ratio here si not the best, but I believe a few things here:

    - Some sites will have the abilityt to touch $500 per month.
    - I will learn a great deal about SEO
    - I will bulild an SEO real estate (more on this later)

    Basic pricing os sites

    A. Doamin Name: under $10 with domain pricacy (2 options - namecheap and resellers club) If you know if more let me know.

    B. Hosting: Multiple account, 50-100 sites per account. I am using blue host as of not and 50 is the max I am gettingt o due to thier limit on number of files per hosting. Have not hit strated using hostgator, but i signed up durign blackfriday. I also have some other hosting accounts. for simplicity sake I am assuming the following: 50 sites per hosting, $50 per host per year. So hosting will be $1/site per year

    C. Content: 5 artciles of average length 700 words (lenght varies from 300-2000 wrds). Cost will vary, I am using non-native english speaking writers from oDesk. YOu can negotiate pricing as you see fit. I try to get the lowest pricing possible by offering flexibiliuty in delievery schedule.

    4. Settign up sites: I have trained 2 VAs who take 3-4 hours to set everything up. From wordpress, to formattin, adding amazon links, etc.

    Total cost: Approx A+B+C+D

If you do C and D yourself, which I recommened for the first few sites, you will be able to really briong down the cost. If you outsource everything your cost will be higher. I do most of my outsourcing on odesk and elance.

I am using EMDs, I have registered all the domains. I thik EMDs no longer have an edge in terms of ranking but I believe they do have an edge in terms of CTR.

It is going to be 5 pages of content for each site and About, contact and privacy pages. So overall 8 pages. If asite perform, I will either flip it or add more content to it.

Try namesilo. It's cheaper than namecheap (also with free privacy) and they don't charge you a fee on privacy when it comes time to renew the domain like namecheap does.

Great plan. Will you do all the SEO or outsource? Doing SEO for 200 websites will be a hell lots of work.

Good luck on your journey, but you're leaving a huge footprint by hosting that many sites on the same server. If you every plan on using your sites for SEO purposes you'll need to spread your sites out to different hosting accounts.

    Noted.

I am using the same adsense on all these 200. So it is obvious to google that they all belogn to me. I think one should be concened about footprints while doing SEO. If you disagree let me know.
