So far, I've been a bit of a cheap pussy and gone white-grey-hat, building wonderful content, and not doing any black-hat tactics. What have I got for playing by the book? Peanuts - that's what I've got.

This is my journey to $1667 in black hat profit.

Why $1667? Because my target is £1000, and everything else is in USD these days. If I can do this, I can do it again, and scale it up.

How? Going for Rank and Bank / Churn and Burn or whatever you want to call it this week. Basically hitting the site with a quantity of links, make it rank, and hope it makes a good ROI.

What Now? I've started writing the content for a site. It's targeting a buying keyword, with 6,600 exact US searches p/m, a high CPC, and a few related KWs with a few thousand searches each. The product I'm targeting is between $500 and $3000 on Amazon. If someone buys the $3k product and I get a 6.5% cut (already selling loads of cheap items to get the higher %), I'll get $195 (in a few months).

Hopefully I'll rank, and hopefully for long enough for someone to buy something and make me my money back. I don't have much money to put into link building; I get ~£60 from AdSense tomorrow, so if the content is done by then, I'll start.

I've not done any link building like this before, so I'm taking action, and just trying it out for myself. This is part of my journey to riches, but for this sub-journey, I've given myself a clear target, with a clear methodology.

In UK Amazon earnings are capped at £7 mate (so if you sell an item for £56,738 you still only get £7 - not fair I know!). Good luck anyway :)

Did not know that. Well I guess I'll stick to low cost stuffs, go for quantity over quality when I use them.

    I didn't know that... that's a bit cheeky!

I'm only targeting US amazon affiliates anyway as what I'm selling is a more American item than British. Plus there's loads more people to flog it to over the pond!

    Cheers!

You need to rank "hot buying" keywords for your website. So you can monetize it with Amazon affiliate.

    Focus content + link building...

Hope you succeed with this project. :)

Been an Amazon Affiliate for years now and I thought this initially too.

Its ridiculous if you ask me but I guess the fact that people trust and buy from Amazon makes up for it somewhat.
