When I started with Craigslist, I had limited posting ability. I needed a way to get a ton of leads with minimal effort. After seeing how my sister would obsess over makeup, spending a ridiculous amount on these products, I felt this may be profitable.
The Makeup Method
Post up a very quick, one-liner, ad in the For Sale > Free Section. The key to get a ton of leads and prevent flagging is to sound like you broke up with your girlfriend and that she left a bunch of makeup at your place. My ads would go something like this:
It was really that simple. One liner with a fake picture.
Leads from girls flooded my inbox and I soon understood that girls really love this stuff. And free made it so much better.
My response was equally simple and dumb-witted. I would respond back to these girls as if I already gave them away.
Girls would respond back actually thanking me for telling them where to get free makeup. Conversions was almost at 50%.
Aside from keeping it ridiculously simple with your ads and response, the offer was key. Any female related products worked well. What I found was that e-mail submits was killer. Girls would happily give up their email and shipping address to get free makeup. At about $1.40/lead, it wasn't much, but the great conversion made up for it.
Enjoy!
