So, like many of you, I found SEO while trying to figure out how to better promote my brick and mortar business. After many months of SEO on my business's website, I had grown my professional consulting firm to a respectable level. I was making money hand over fist and was able to charge double my normal rate because I was the first one in my field people found on Google. However, I still had to work for my money. And work F*CKING hard. I was still pulling 60-70 hour weeks, and my wife and kids were starting to hate me for it. So ever since I've seen SEO work on my business, I've been attempting affiliate marketing, CPA, Adsense, Email Marketing, and everything you can think of. All of this came with little or no success. I just wasn't all that passionate about pushing someone else's product. It wasn't in me. After about of year of trying to push other people's products and failing miserably, I got sick of it and quit trying to IM for a month or two and just focused on my business. I used many of the tools that I found through trying IM to promote my own business, and they worked really well. However, about a month ago I said to myself "Fuck it, I'm going to give residual income one more shot." So instead of pushing some rich jerks product, I decided to make my own. I worked 10 times as hard promoting my own product as I ever had while doing CPA or Adsense. I worked day and night because I actually gave a shit about what I was selling. So I check my Paypal account right before I went to bed last night, and BAM, more money in one night than I have made in over a year of promoting someone else's product. So the moral of the story is, I failed at CPA, Adsense, and all the others because I was not nearly as passionate and driven to push their products as I was my own.
