I've said this across the forums it all comes down to 3 things.

    Master a traffic source.
    Monetize.
    Optimize.

    What traffic source?
    SEO? PPC? PPV? Media buys?

Let's say you want to make money from SEO.

Step 1: Pick a keyword that get a high enough number of searches with low SE competition. These two factors are usually inversely proportional of each other so you gotta pick a balance.

How high enough is enough for searches?
I can't give you a number because it's not the same for every niche.

A product value at $500+ only need 1000 exact searches per month to make $10/day.
i.e: amazon pays 6.5% commision, out of $500 that's $32.5 per product sold.
With 30 hits per day an and average conversion of 2% for every click. You'll get about 1 sale every 2 days. That's $15/day.

    See how easy this is?

If you see traffic and you're not making the conversion..

    Change your sales copy!

    Change your call to action!

Tweak it till you make it.

To be continued.. let me know if you got questions.

    SEO what?

The most important thing when doing SEO is picking the right niche.

Picking a tough niche to break into will make things harder for you as more resources are required to rank for the term.

What to analyze when looking at the Top 10 site?

    1. Backlinks to page.
    2. PR of page and Backlinks to domain.
    3. Type of sites, does the site focus on that niche, or only happen to have a page about that niche.
    4. On page SEO (only 5% of factor, don't care too much about this)

I have a question about gauging your competition. Nowadays a lot of sites use satellite sites in their backlinking so they may only have 10 backlinks, but those first-tier backlinks may have 500 backlinks to each of them.

My question is, doesn't that deceive the competition because all those other satellite sites pass on the link juice? I've always wondered that and never found the answer so maybe you would know since you breed money :D

    Thanks!

Just build more backlinks than them, or move on to the next micro niche.

You can predict competition pretty accurately once you launched your first 2-3 sites and do some linkbuilding on them.

There are 10 positions on the first page, sitting right below that site wouldn't be so bad if you have a compelling meta description.

    Next.

Picking an easy niche will not make you any serious money.

Pick a hard niche and kick the shit out of competition.

You can do it that way too. Like I said, only you know what your link resources are.

Doing SEO for a site for 6 months only to have it de-indexed for no reason is a bit dicey. (Farmer Update)

    Improvise.

Something is told more than much here in BHW.
DON'T USE BLACK HAT TACTICS FOR YOUR MAIN SITE!

If someone insists on building the SEO concept on pure black hat then he has to get the risks of getting lost on every update.

If you do not use these black hat methods on your main site and apply them on your supporting sites then you will not lose your main site.

I am speechless on your approach to SEO!

Also what you are sharing is nothing new. I don't want to flame anyone including you but these are my thoughts.

It's definitely not new, this guide is for newbies.

On-page SEO is not that big of a deal, how do you think Flash websites rank?

I'm not saying that it's not important, it's just so easily manipulated that Google put less emphasize on it as a ranking factor.

Then this means that we can throw away all CSS, HTML5 and same kind of technology away...
I simply will not argue on this matter. It will be pointless...
