So my niche is 'make money online' or 'work from home'. I see there are a lot of tactics on here involving link wheels or article marketing etc. I just can't see any of this really working for my niche as it's so saturated.

I was getting all of my traffic exclusively from Adwords for this niche which was working like a charm - highly targeted, highly profitable. But alas, I was suspended - on Christmas day if you can believe it. So this has made me need to rethink my whole traffic strategy and start working again!:p

So I'm interested in trying some Link wheel tactics or mass article submission or something similar - But I have some questions.

Just how hard is this niche to rank for if you're technically starting out fresh with SEO?

Is it even worth bothering with SEO for this niche or would you suggest an alternative source of traffic like I was using before?

With my knowledge of IM (been marketing for 4 years) the opinion that I've formed so far on SEO with 'make money online' niche is that it might be possible to rank highly for long tail keywords.. Is this the right direction?

I'm pretty new to organic traffic methods and SEO. I know a fair bit as you pick it up here and there - I know the terminology and a few basic ins and outs and techniques - but until now I've primarily been focused on good copy writing, sales pages and paid traffic and have never actually put any of these organic traffic techiques into action.

    Thanks in Advance!

Every niche is possible, if you know how to do it or if you got enough resource to bring people on the table who knows how to do it...

Make money online or job from home kinda niche is very tough and need some good work on it... It's still lucrative market if you can pull enough traffic, people still making big money in this niche...

It's up to you to decide if you got enough skill or enough resource to make it happen... If not then I will suggest you to leave this niche and start will less competitive niche... This is also one of the biggest reason why people fail to make money and leave IM early... They pick wrong niche in start and soon loose interest in it...

Try to learn first then start working... Good Luck

Lucrative markets = high competition = high rewards.

You can crack any market you want if you have the chops, the ideas and the experience to get in there.

My advice, is your time and effort is MUCH BETTER spent elsewhere.

Get creative w/your long-tail-keywords and go after the low-hanging fruit...look for keywords w/little to moderate searches per month, write your articles around those keywords and mass submit to the popular ones.

Take those articles, convert em to video and then use TubeMogul.
Also, regarding video, find similar (high viewed) videos on YouTube and do a video response...

There's even a way to take the audio out of the video and upload that to podcast sites.

Furthermore, take written articles and put them in .doc format and upload to sites like Scribd and similar ones.

Get a friend to post 'keyword related question' on Yahoo Answers...wait an hour or so and then submit a response.....wait 3-4 hours later and have friend 'best answer' your response.

It's possible but you gotta be prepared to do the work!

    Thanks for the responses!

I definitely want to stay in this niche as my site converts extremely well when I get traffic to it! I'm not new to this game at all - just SEO!

If money isn't a problem, what paid services would you recommend on here? Link wheel services, article submission, back links? I've also thought about buying a 'make money online' site that's already getting this type of targeted traffic and then just forwarding domain to my own site as an easy option of traffic generation.

To succeed in IM niche I feel you have to brand yourself, build a list, and get a following of happy customers. There are too many me-toos who make out they are experts and don't provide any value to their visitors. If you can give something back your reputation will spread.

    Ghoast,

I've not used any services from any website, so I can't comment on that. However, as the old saying goes:

"test, test and when you're done, test some more"

apply that to whatever services you think will best offer the highest return on your investment and see how it goes! ;-)

I agree that you should brand yourself as you build your list. You may hate that "other well known marketing forum", but from what I've been reading lately, w/in the MMO niche, there's definitely 'trouble brewing'...and that if the right marketer came along and put the customer first and did away with what we're all seeing in this niche (MMO), I honestly believe that marketer could not only make a name for themselves, but could also do extremely well in the way of making some serious sells....However, this is just my view on the subject matter, therefore your mileage may vary!

    Hope that helps...
