Hey I just had an idea to share that I once did at Uni. I have done alot of University Marketing to students with blackhat methods. If you are at university or have access to one near by then try this.

    1) Make a website for students to request books they need for there course and you will provide it to them for a fee. You could charge £5-£20 as most of student books cost around £30-£40 anyway. Plus your only be giving them ebook format. This will work as most students outside the computing subject don't have a clue on how easy they are to download.

    2) Promote it around the university, posters, flyers, emails, student online communities etc etc.

    3) Then check the requests, find them and provide.

    4) I would say the best payment is provide them all once a week on CD and do the face to face. However it would be better to do it all online. On the site after you have emailed them saying you have the book they requested. They have to pay using paypal etc or donate X amount of money. Then they have to email you their recepit number. You check it, then email the ebook or point them to the download.

This method can net you a lot of money at the beginning of years and semesters and even arounf exams and coursework deadline dates.

Happy ebooking and take as much of their student loans as you can get off them!

Nice idea patrat, how much were you making a week from this and how were you getting hold of the ebooks?
I ask because I'm in Uni at the moment.

I already posted this a few weeks ago with ways to get required coursebooks from uni's, and find cheap suppliers etc.

easy money though if you have the coin upfront!

My course books average around £80 though, so i always try and get cheaper alternatives.

Well I remembered this idea I used to use when I read this thread:

    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/member-downloads/32568-free-books.html

The site posted there for free ebooks is:

    HTML:
    http://www.giuciao.com/
Try project gutenberg - the largest collection of free ebooks.

    HTML:
    http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page
    Use sites like:

    HTML:
    http://www.ebooks-space.com
Ones like this link to online file storage such as rapidshare.

There are many other options like mediafire and rapidshare, torrents, p2p, free ebook sites on the internet.

However I used to use this site:

    HTML:
    http://www.pdfchm.net/
Yes its a normal book site but go to:

    HTML:
    http://www.chmpdf.com/archives/ebooks/
Look at all them resources! Lol! Somehow when you click some of the links it goes to the product page but most links allow you to download the actual ebook. This is the only site I used when doing this method.

EDIT: It seems you now need an account to download the PDF's. It must have all changed since I used it about a year ago now. Well try it out anyway. The account page is at:

    HTML:
    http://www.pdfchm.com/link/file/33140/
jammie: whats the tread so I can look please?

I used to earn around a couple of hundred quid the first time I started it but the following years when I had it all planned out and promoted it I earned a couple of grand a year.

Good idea. If you really want to get into it, you can even scan textbooks that don't have an electronic version.

Quite a bit of work. But if you outsource it for cheap, it's easy pie.
