Make Journey threads editable forever

So two days ago I finally started a YouTube journey thread

I updated it yesterday and thought well, isn't it pain in ass for all people that are following that they have to click through all pages when they want to read what I've done?
Wouldn't it be much easier if we could edit the first post forever so people can see updates on my journey on the first page?

Also, I put an image in there for test purposes and now I cannot remove it anymore.


What do you think about this idea? Is it even (technically) possible?

If you need something removed, report your post or PM a mod and we can amend it. Other than that, I don't think it's a good idea. The idea of a journey thread is to see how you progress. If you're constantly polishing and updating the first post, it detracts from any growth or development gained along the way.

I personally love reading through journey threads. It give people an honest time frame, allows them to see the entire journey (Changes in thought processes etc)

I think that if we could edit things we'd lose a lot of valuable "IM Journey" info

Hm, okay you two. I get the idea.
I might put it on a blog for those people that want to read everything in one place or download the whole thing, I understand making the posts editable in that section wouldnt work as well as I thought first.

Yea i've been wondering about that problem myself.

I just though of a cool idea that you could try out..

You could add some bit.ly links to your OP, then update the redirect every so often when you have a new post.

A bit hacky but could work.

You could also post a link to paste bin or something that shows a "Living" "Table of Contents"

Just a thought.

I've seen quite a few people making PDFs out of their Journey threads and putting that up so everything's in one place and easier to read too.
However updating the OP constantly isn't really very helpful and like Apricot points out,it shows your progress over a certain time frame.
If you updated your OP all the time you'd lose track of your own progress after a while too.

I'm however open to the idea of having certain "Featured" or "Highlight" posts in your thread so you and the reader can better track your milestones.
