This could work with any popular sport. Basically you are going to make a rumor site regarding popular sports trades.

Step #1: Make Twitter account, follow all known Professional sport sources.

Step #2: Claim insider knowledge of team, be vague.

Step #3: Make a specific trade promise, but no timeline.

Step #4: Overplay hand, cave to pressure. Give timeline.

Step #5: Back out of said deadline with last minute change of heart by one team or other.

    Step #6: Profit.

I am not going to go any further with this as there are many ways you could monetize this. Place your link of your website, make it membership site, surround it with adsense, cpa, etc.

I know a guy that made a million last year doing this and even had an appearance on a popular sports show.

The surprising thing about this is that you will be right once and a while. Cause your say vague, people will claim you called a trade even though it might not be the same players and your popularity will skyrocket! Eventually you could even do this for a living! The sky is the limit with this method.

This method has been spoken of here.

Two teams , half the leads for one team half the other leads for the other team..
One is bound to win and follow your next prediction.

With this method you can do what you want. Regardless of whether you are right or wrong people will follow you so it doesn't necessarily mean if that you have all bad leads you will not make money so it's not like that method.

I think the idea here is to just have a temporary surge in traffic while people become interested. You will need to rinse and repeat with new accounts etc each time. Its got some ideas flowing so thanks.

You are walking on thin ice with this method.

All it takes is a couple people to report your site and the FTC will come knocking at your door.

Very true. Some people have the mentality that they have to and since the FTC picks up the phones they feel they can make a difference 'taking you down'

I would love to see them try to come and knock on my door. :D I don't think they would have any Juris "DICK" tion...especially since nothing is in my name. Not to mention that nobody has true jurisdiction over me as long as I don't commit the basic infractions of the law....like murder and such. Only in the form of taxes do they have grounds, and that will end just as soon as I do a little restructuring with my companies in the proper jurisdictions and surrender my US citizenship! YAY!!! I cannot wait...:biggthump
