Main page not ranking for main keywords anymore

for the past few weeks one of my sites main page have been loosing rankings for 2 of my main keywords and now i have subpage ranking, but way lower in SERPS. Home page still ranks for several other kw, but more and more kw disapear every week. Site is indexed in Google, main page is cached on a daily basis, etc.

Any ideas ?

high competition? others are building better than you? if its a new niche and a lot of sites are building for the keywords then they will all enter the rankings very high (googles little tease) then they will drop off the top page.

There are literally a million reasons why this could be happening

The major search engine does change their algorithm, after a certain time..

by the way...what sort of product you are promoting or selling ??

I don't understand why my main paged is not ranking, while my subpages are for the same kw ?
