When I started a new wp page it got indexed fast, then I uploaded some articles, etc. and they got indexed too, but the problem is googlebot won`t reindex my main index page with new title/description, tagline... it shows that "hello world" and "Welcome to WordPress, this is your first post." crap in the description when I google my site. How can I force google to reindex it? I tried to ping it but it did not change anything. The last time bot visited my index site was 15 days ago (when I just started building it). Thanks.

Try using google webmasters, there is such feature. Disable wpcache if you have one installed.

The bot will come back when it's good and ready which for a new site with few inbound links may be some time.

Keep adding content and backlinks and they will be back. You could try:

    1) Ezine article with anchor text pointing to root
    2) Create an Identi.ca account and drop in your link
    3) Same with Mixx.com
    4) Same with Twitter and retweet with other accounts

Just keep adding backlinks / new content and I'm sure they'll be back. Once your site has more authority they'll visit more frequently anyway.

I don`t find that feature, could you please tell me where it is?. Also, when I press the "test" button in the end of the crawler access I get "Allowed by line 2: Disallow:
Detected as a directory; specific files may have different restrictions" - is everything alright with them? Or maybe it is a good idea to set this option
to custom and make it fast?

I also noticed, that in the sitemaps category /sitemap.xml.gz was downloaded yesterday but it says that 8 pages were submited but only 3 url`s were listed as "URL`s in web index". :/

    Thanks for your tips.

Try reading webmasters support - search results section. Delete old robots.txt file and create new one in your webmasters. Click - allow - all, and within 12 hours google will download it.

Dont worry about what they show in sitempa statistics, numbers always does not match.

With my Wordpress installs, I always install the sitemap plugin. Googlebot typically doesn't visit my sites very often at first. I keep adding content at a "natural" pace, then a few months later, google starts visiting more often and my SERP ranking climbs.
