I know both are very capable "tools", I know that I still have to put in some effort to achieve results but Magic Submitter has a monthly fee whereas IBP has a one-time fee. I'm not thinking about SeNukeX here, cuz for me 147 a month is a bit too much to chew. Which would be a wise choice?
Thanks in advance for your time and the valuable inputs!

    They are totally different tools.

IBP primarily analyses your site, tells you stuff about keyword density, tags, comeptition and such like, then tells you to "go off and make some links then"
About the only thing it does links wise is sign you up to search engines (most of which are foreign language)
When it says it helps you get links - what it does is come up with a list of sites than suggests you contact the webamster for a link exchange. Total crap and very poor SEO wise (reciprocal link schemes are actively frowned on by Google)

Magic Submitter is a link building tool

IMO neither of them are very good. I've had both and stopped using both and moved on to better tools and services.

However, more of a concern is that you don't understand the difference. I'd spend a few days learning what you really need to achieve before spending any money.
Then if its links sign upo for Nuke or Demon and if it's analysis of your site sign up for Majestic SEO or similar. If it's neither then move on.

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply Scritty... I need tools for both optimizing and link-building. So you reckon UD is a better choice wen compared to Magic Submitter? If you can shed more light on this, it would be really valuable for me and other members here.
    Thank you again.

IMO, UD is better. I've been using magic submitter for a few months and for real i don't think it is efficient.

I barely open it these days. IPB can be good for on site. It used to impress me at first, but now it doesn't much.

I prefer running my own SEO check list and go from there to optimize the websites.

Anyhow, in my SEO tools arsenal i always preferred specialized tools rather than all in one, but that's me.

I got Magic Submitter for the video blaster but it doesn't work well here, so instead i'm gonna purchase VMR.

Otherwise here my lists of favorite SEO tools that i use the most

    - Scrapebox
    - BMD
    - Xrumer
    - Tweet Daemon
    - Vbulletin Traffic Storm
    - Blog Bot Creator
    - SEO Power Suite (all suite is good but link assistant)
    - Wiki Bomber and Extreme Wiki Poster
    - Article Marketing Robot (to manage blog network mainly success rate is too low for article directories)
    - Sliq Submitter
    - Keyword Scout
    - and a few others for specific kind of links
