After working on few projects, try finding some skilled freelancer. Get a project and outsource it. Make $$$ just by managing.

Not to resurrect an old thread but I have felt for a few months that I should stop by and give another update to everyone here at BHW.

First of all I want to once again say THANK YOU BHW! The wealth of information here is truly astounding. If you really want to make it BHW is a great source of info and inspiration.

Secondly I wanted to give a little update on myself. For the last 1 1/2 years I have been steadily growing my web design/development business just a little bit at a time. I still own a local service business which has more sales but my web development business is frankly making me more of a profit with less sales.

I have hired a part-time employee and we are doing steady web design work everyday Monday-Friday now. I have learned more and more about web design and have moved beyond just using Wordpress templates. I now have a good command of XHTML and CSS. I am currently learning PHP and MySQL and am becoming a half way decent programmer.

We can now customize Wordpress themes and plug-ins to suit our needs. We can also work on lots of various types of sites that don't use Wordpress as a CMS. Our next step will be to produce our own themes and plug-ins for sale. I think it will be a nice way to add a little income to our bottom line.

I'm also going to get into mobile application development. It's clear to me that all of the big players in the design industry are making lots of money off of apps. I have been looking at some online courses for building IOS apps and plan to start soon. Going back to school is not an option for me as I am running two businesses but taking online courses is something that I can work into my schedule.

We recently sold a website for $7,600!! That has been absolutely huge for us and will keep us working for quite some time to come.

You can accomplish your goals if you just get out there and take action. Stop PLANNING and start WORKING!!
