About 2 months ago I made a niche site that sells information to a niche market. The search volume is 1,400 (exact) per month. I hit page 1 in the SERPS a few weeks ago and have been hovering about 15-20 visits a day to my 1-page sale site. About 4 days ago, I changed my sales text because I had not even converted one sale in a few weeks and only TODAY, just got my first order. (24.99) I was ecstatic to have finally made money while I was just out walking my dog at the park! But, the information I sell has to be manually updated every few weeks or so and updated by keeping track of contact information for about 120 companies in a specific industry. If I were hitting an order a day, it would be a no-brainer...hire a VA once every two weeks to update the database. But one order out of how many people so far? I don't know if I should give up or what. Maybe keep tweaking the content to see if I can get one per day to convert and just refund the people until then because I dont want to track all these companies until it's worth it? What would you guys do?

    Hi Bro,

Keep doing it and keep developing. Try to rank for more keywords in this niche, as this will bring more visitors to the website.. Also I do not know what your site design is, but make some pro design and the visitors will convert more. Also check the competitions and see what they are offering, prices etc and compare with your site. Try to make your service as much affordable and better than the rest.

Wish you all the best with your project and do not stop now, keep doing it

    Cheers
    Petko

Try something other then SEO, directs mailing, FB ads. It depends on your niche.

Yeah, we've all been there; when you promised so many things before getting that fisrt order and can even go out fo your way to convince anybody; But once the orders start trickling in,and you are getting down to work to fulfill the orders, then the reality beckons. Not to worry, fulfill this first order satisfactorily; you are not doing this for the money, but for the feedback afterwards. If the buyer is impressed, you can request for a detailed after-sales impression from him about your service. Then, you can standardize and increase your price for better value. What's your site URL btw??

Also, not sure what your product is but you might get returning costumers if it's some sort of report that your costumer needs updated.

You made money online! So no, don't stop. As Petko said, try finding more relevant keywords for you niche/product. Or, why not, monetize your website in a different way. Whatever you do don't give up now.

Where on page 1 are you? If you're #10 you're getting virtually none of the traffic you could be getting. If you got to #1, you could have a lot more clicks and a lot more conversions, even if the conversion rate remains approximately the same.
You just have to measure the potential for growth with the effort to grow with the reward.

Thanks for the feedback guys, Im at #2 right now for the main keyword I targeted. Via your suggestions, I looked up similar keywords and found out that I am missing about a half dozen keywords with a total of about 7,000 more searches monthly combined. (Some of these keywords just include names of the certain companies in the niche.)Now since I have only went after one keyword specifically and got an EMD and am only using one main sales page...I guess I'll have to start targeting the other keywords. I've never targeted more that two keywords...I have to do more research to see if I need to add more pages for each keyword and backlinks with those anchors to that page or that main site. There is no other competition for this niche, it's a weird one...

I'm going to, this was my first site I built outside of my own photo business site. I'm going to try to find a niche with tons of traffic to monetize. Im guessing thats what you do? Any feedback or advice is appreciated.

Keep doing what you're doing, and spend the money on another site. Not really much else to suggest. You could save the $25, invest it in another site, or give up - it's up to you in the end.

Every dollar is worth it. Keep on reinvesting money back into your site. Get more content, links, etc. Eventually that $25 can turn into $100 days or more depending on your keywords chosen.

    You've already come this far.

Errrr.... Are you even collecting these leads via opt-in..... your niche sounds quite targeted/specialized. That means these are great prospects. Not everybody is comfortable buying something online right from the get go. Offer them something for free.. get those emails, grow that list. These are very highly targeted prospect, don't abuse them, but every now and again send them some market related data, then offer them your product, or other related offers. Don't let all the fish swim away! That's how you turn a 1 sale a month site, into a 20 sales a month site. Then you can hire your VA to do all the grunt work for you, and you've got yourself an ATM.
